Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

Changing customer service team members is a normal part of running any customer-service based business, so I understand that is unavoidable. Overall, I have been very happy with the level of support we've had in this area. Some of our reps, including our current rep. have been outstanding, while here and there, responsiveness has suffered a little, though I have never been unsatisfied as a whole.

My experience has been that TriNet has worked very well as a team, carving out niches of expertise amongst its team members serving us.

We are a small organization of less than 10 EEs; however, we are very active, conducting clinical trials costing approximately $10M annually. We use Trinet for its payroll processing and regulatory reporting, and for its benefits administration.

Pros

  • TriNet handles Federal & State regulatory matters very well, sharing with us what's coming down the pike and what changes are now effective. It handles our payroll activities like clockwork, including all payroll tax reporting & year-end W-2 reporting.
  • TriNet's process for rolling out each new year's benefits enrollment is very efficient and user friendly. We are happy with the plan offerings and cost comparison information is well laid out, ensuring we are clear on our anticipated costs for the coming year.
  • TriNet's HR consultants helped me work out some of the logistics for an employee (US citizen) we had hired in Germany. Although we needed to use a German payroll provider, TriNet was very helpful in flushing out for me how I needed to handle the US reporting aspects of this arrangement.
  • TriNet's 401(k) offering through Transamerica has been very cost-effective for us. It handles all administration and compliance reporting, ensuring our employees can take advantage of this very important benefit our Company makes available.

Cons

  • Printing our bi-weekly payroll reports, while not terrible, is more time consuming than I'd prefer. If selected reports could be automatically generated onto PDF's or Excel, as directed, I could save time each pay period.
  • Company calendars do not print well from the Passport site.
  • It seems some reports print with more pages than necessary. Perhaps I don't understand all the reporting functionality; however, as I print a number of payroll reports each pay-period, it seems more pages than necessary need be generated. This is just a small annoyance as the paper reports are more voluminous than I'd prefer.
  • TriNet has had a very positive impact on our business objectives, allowing us to spend minimal time on payroll, benefits & compliance matters. This has allowed me as HR administrator to focus on the crucial business objectives of our organization. I sleep well knowing I am kept informed on regulatory developments by TriNet's HR specialists.
  • The user friendliness of TriNet's platform enables all our employees access their relevant information in an efficient self-service manner. Assistance is always available directly from TriNet's staff when needed.
  • TriNet's offerings has facilitated our out of state employees to obtain important health insurance in their locales.

TriNet has been terrific as a full service solution for our small company. TriNet has enabled me to spend a relatively minimal amount of in the HR area. Very important to me as Controller & HR Admin.

All of TriNet's processes seem more streamlined & user-friendly vs similar providers I've used in the past.

For a small company like ours, TriNet has been a full-service HR department. I can appreciate the level of effort that goes into keeping on top of federal and state regulations and HR good practices. My experience with TriNet has shown they clearly invest in their people to ensure they can set up systems and guide their clients to ensure awareness of changes as well as regulatory compliance.
