Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

My personal experience with our Client Service Assoc is very good. She assists with the odd requests in a timely fashion. We have been given the metrics around the service utilization by our employees and it is good to see that our staff makes good use of the resources that TriNet makes available.
I would actually give this about a 6.5. In my opinion, the site experiences glitches too often, It usually requires that I close out and re-log in. The beta site adds a couple of new functions but is also experiencing weird crashes. For example, presently, trying to go to the payroll entry page causes an issue. It requires that I go back to the old site to enter payroll.
TriNet is used for payroll & benefits, PTO tracking and time & attendance. Used by all U.S. based employees. We have offices in Europe and those employees are set as trusted advisers so that they may participate in training offering and manager roles largely for PTO approvals.

It provides an additional HR resource for employees to leverage.

Pros

  • Payroll process and administration is solid. Very easy to manage.
  • Good integration of benefits and programs with payroll. Health benefit choices, commuter benefits, and 401k seamlessly link from third party sites with individual payroll
  • Good tools available such as paycheck estimator, PTO estimator, mobile app and TriNet marketplace.

Cons

  • New beta site is still buggy.
  • Certain functions take too long to process like running certain reports, or making changes to employee managers
  • Leave of absence processing is a bit confusing
  • Payroll processing for terminated employees (final pay) is perplexing
  • TriNet should absolutely integrate the New York State wage notification in the onboarding phase for a new hire. This should be all electronic, similar to the I9 function
  • A more efficient use of time is enabling a company to push a link to a new hire prior to the first day so that s/he may input much of their information before starting. TriNet should develop this function
  • Extremely important to handle multi-state requirements . TriNet does this very well. So this has helped with our objective to increase our presence to other states without additional costs beyond normal processing
  • A negative would be the lack of international presence. In an ever increasing global economy, it would have been ideal to house under one roof, all of our international and domestic payrolls.
It's a good platform for many smaller companies that wish to provide their staff with a wide variety of medical benefit choices at decent premiums. I think that once a company grows in size, it may find that the PEO model is less suitable.
