Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

There were several development tools that I was researching while trying to figure out which to recommend and use for our team. TrustRadius provided me with a good location to find reviews made by people who had attempted to use different development tools on teams like mine. The reviews on TrustRadius were much more geared towards giving recommendations to my team and team lead about why a particular tool would be useful for us.
  • To confirm my decision
  • To find evidence to support my recommendation to colleagues or my client
  • To see what other users think of the product I am currently using
I went to products that I already knew the names of because I had either worked with them personally or knew a colleague that had worked with the tool. Once I found those products, I looked through the reviews looking for patterns of comments relating to my personal experience or my personal needs. Most of those comments fell in line with what I to expected to find, which was very confirming to my opinions.
I look for pros and cons and basic outlines of the features that a product presents. Even when a product claims it's for a generic category of activities, such as a code editor or an agile project manager, those tools are still geared towards a particular style of use. I primarily look for tools that have reviews showing they are geared towards my anticipated use case.
Reviews allow me to find an unbiased third party that can confirm that what I think is true, or what I've been told is true. Having access to reviews increased my confidence quite a bit when coming to an opinion about a product.
  • The reviews are displayed quite well in the user interface
  • The reviews have been reviewed to make sure there is real content
  • I can go straight to the section(s) I care about
  • Statistics relating to the reviews that would allow an "at a glance" view of the products
  • Expanded scorecard components
I would talk to colleagues when looking for ideas about what products to consider and I would look up the product pages themselves, which can give you an idea of what the product is trying to achieve. To figure out if it's actually achieving that, I would google for reviews which might send me to Reddit or it might send me to random locations, but I scan for different sources of information.
TrustRadius has a comprehensive collection of reviews, comprehensive collection of products, and a good user interface. All of these are better than many other review sites or blogs or Reddit or forums. Overall, TrustRadius is just a superior experience than much of the rest of what the web has to offer.
It has impacted my opinions, but I was never in a position to do anything more than make recommendations to my managers. So, it may have impacted their opinions, but I cannot say. In my experience, I've also primarily focused on development tools in my research and less on [other types of] business technology products.
TrustRadius has good, comprehensive reviews of business products. It can be difficult to find actual reviews of business products that aren't put out by companies or the creators of the products themselves. Finding something unbiased or at least honest can be frustrating. A lot of those reviews can be found on TrustRadius and they are presented in an easily usable way.
