Overall Satisfaction with UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready)

We use UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) as our full HRIS, with timekeeping, payroll, and benefits. We will be implementing other modules for talent acquisition, performance, and compensation. This is an improvement from our old system, which was clunky and not user friendly. The whole organization is using the system for timekeeping and employee self-service functions.
  • The HR module is fairly intuitive for users to navigate.
  • The homepage and dashboards are easy to read.
  • Employees can review their own information using ESS functions.
  • Employees can submit changes to their information using HR actions and forms.
  • As an administrator, many areas of the system are hard coded and we are not given the ability to edit them, while other areas allow any employee to make changes and edit what all others see.
  • There are a lot of small enhancements that need to be made. Judging from the ideas section of the help community, some ideas sit for three years with hundreds of people upvoting them, and they are still not implemented.
  • The system seems to be intuitive, but its easy to get lost in the navigation.
  • The system tries to be agile and customizable, but when we try to change something, we are told its hard coded and we can't change it, but we're encouraged to submit an idea to the help community in hopes that it gets noticed.
  • We are still too early in being a customer to really see the ROI in dollars. Employee perception is mixed. Employees like the ESS functionality, but timekeeping and accruals have been a pain point, as well as work orders and project hours.
Based on previous experiences with the other software that we have used and the customer service that we received with that software, we selected UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready). Because it is known as an industry leader in timekeeping, and due to positive customer service interactions, we thought UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) would be a better fit for our organization.
We believed that we would be able to track work orders and project hours as part of our timekeeping, but that is proving not to be the case. Our implementation consultant didn't even know about that functionality, even though it was demonstrated and presented before and during our selection process.
I am in a benefits and insurance position with my organization and I was able to roll out ESS and OE to our employees. I am able to manually enter benefits for employee groups as needed. There have been issues with updates in UKG that get rolled out and it changes the way we can enter benefits. For example, we can not list an open ended benefits date, which makes it hard for us to have a passive Open Enrollment in future years.
The My Learning section in the system is helpful when implementing the system, and the community is helpful in hearing how others have found workarounds for functionality that the system doesn't provide. It also gives some sense of assurance that even though something is not working in the system, others have also experienced your frustrations and there is not a workaround. Basically it's nice to know "It's not me, it's the system."

Employees could not use our old HRIS for employee self-service, and most functionality was completed on paper forms and keyed into it. This system is a step in the right direction, but it's evident pretty quickly that there are a lot of enhancements that need to take place to make the system more intuitive and user friendly for both administrators and employees (e.g., open enrollment processes, adding dependents and beneficiaries, etc.).
