Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

We use UltiPro companywide to assist employees with self management and managers with managing. Additionally we use it for payroll, performance, compensation, recruiting, onboarding, and more. We are using it to assist with meeting certain objectives in those areas. This product will not save you time or FTE but it will assist in reaching certain goals and objectives of HR and Senior Management.
  • Core HR is its strength. That is management of HR data to assist HR and Management.
  • Compensation Management is a great tool but works best when paired with performance management. It can be used as stand alone but has some integrated features that make using both advantageous.
  • Payroll works well and is much better supported than other features of Ultipro
  • Their ATS or recruiting module is really bad, especially for the price when compared with other options on the market. The on-boarding features make it bearable but there are some real issues with the questions library and posting and closing opportunities.
  • Their much touted customer service model struggles. We have only heard from our Account Manager one time in over a year and that is because we complained about it to several levels of people. Often it feels as though they want you to accept a resolution to a case before it is resolved so they can move on or their resolution is a partial solution but not one that really satisfies.
  • It feels similar with module implementations, sometimes 4 calls and you are on your own. That doesn't feel like a sincere interest in our success. No follow-up calls a few weeks later to make sure you got it and are ready to go. Once or twice I called asking follow-up questions right after a module implementation and they try to bill you for the help. Not cool.
  • Consolidating HR administration under a single solution
We are very close to bringing HR technology and solutions under one platform. It will not save a company FTE or money. It will help you better work with your managers and employees regarding the various modules.
UltiPro is the all inclusive solution, our CEO calls it the cadillac and you will likely pay a cadillac price. Kronos is a very similar solution for a much better price but did not have every feature that UltiPro had at the time we reviewed. Namely was great and innovative but too new for us to dare try.
An HRIS is well suited for most companies but smaller companies should be looking at products like Bamboo HR while those approaching 200 EE's should look at Kronos, UltiPro, Namely, etc. Then for very large companies there are products suited to your size and resources.
