Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
The Unitrends backup appliance is used for our entire organization, from file backup, to servers and email. It is primary used to mediate on-site recovery and down time. We are able to provide files and data from the Unitrends devices in a timely fashion.
- Backups up any type of system (Windows, Solaris, ,and Linux)
- File level backups
- Support from Unitrends is very good
- Exchange backups are quite long to restore. Does not provide a mailbox item recovery
- NDMP restores can also be quite long, to restore just one file
- Does not scale well with larger organizational footprints
- Unitrends was able to assist with recovering data from a ransom-ware incident, as we were able to go back 60 days, ,before the ransomware incident occurred and retrieve the data.
- Unitrends was able to assist with recovering deleted data from a shared mailbox, using their recovery system.
Unitrends was selected because it provided an option needed for federal regulatory compliance. The additional business support also was a factor in choosing Unitrends over other backup vendors.
