Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
Veeam Data Platform assists us with backing up our on premise servers as well as replicating/copying our backup server to another backup server at a 2nd off campus site. We setup backups to auto run nightly and then copy to the office site once a week over the weekend. Overall there doesn't require much intervention.
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
- Automating test restores to validate recoverability
- Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
- None of the above
- scheduling of packups
- easy to use without much training
- even if it's manual, checking for a successful backup
- It's not the platform but it'd be nice to have our rep recommend features that would fit in our budget
- It'd also be nice to have a review of our setup to see how we could improve
Do you think Veeam Data Platform delivers good value for the price?

We currently do not backup any of our cloud workloads and rely on the third party vendor for that. Our physical server are all backed up and we have 12 of those. I inherited the product and it is working as described by my predecessor but we have kind of 'set and forget' other than testing a backup weekly.
- It is a reasonable priced software to backup our on premise physical servers.
- We are able to provide an off site backup as well to enhance our disaster recovery program
It has met our needs so far with a basic disaster recovery plan. Our critical systems are most hosted how and the 3rd party that provides them is in charge of their backup. Although it would be nice to know what our options our if we wanted a local copy but that may not be feasible.
As I stated previously we rely on our 3rd party vendor to supply those backups and test integrity. These are the majority of systems that have our critical data. It'd be nice to have a copy on premise but that also brings increased security risks.
We use Google Education and hence Google drive for our file shares. Currently we utilize Googles Data Vault and have not had an issues with that feature.
