Overall Satisfaction with Vena
Vena is being used across our entire organization as the central point for all of our financial reporting documents. We use it as an analytics tool for our site leaders to compare their month to date performance to the last financial forecast (3+9, 6+6, etc.). Vena is the last word for our corporate finances.
Pros
- Real Time Updates that can be viewed across the organization
- Allows Sites, Leaders, and Corporate Finance to collaborate on site level P&L's
- Seemless integration into Excel which makes it easy to use by everyone.
Cons
- Having to open and close in order to see updates made by others.
- Only allowing one person to make edits at once hurt collaboration.
- Seeing fixed numbers change from one open to another when those figures have not changed can be concerning.
- It has reduced the need to create a separate weekly financial comparison planner, freeing up that role responsible for creating said report to work on other tasks.
- Reduces the amount of time the GM's spend on creating financial reports
- Integration with Great Plains eliminated the entres makde by our accountants by 50%.
Vena has been key in helping our organization become more financially focuses and improved the financial acument of our site level leaders. It gives them the insight and visibility on where their business units are going and allows them to focus in on particular GL codes that are driving the EBITDA in the wrong direction, allowing them to make decisions immediately to course correct.
