Overall Satisfaction with Vena Solutions

We are on our way to implement across the organization. In the short term, we are using it to speed our weekly revenue forecast and compile disparate data points. In the future we will be building out the reporting base as a way to disseminate the periodic and weekly reports to the decision makers in our organization. Further down the line we will be implementing it as a budgeting tool.

  • Utilize the capabilities of Excel with enhanced data security
  • Really customizable
  • Working around more secure data environments
  • Not always straight forward in pulling from some sources
  • Can be cumbersome to build out and technicality can create a barrier for entry
  • We are in progress of building and we've been slow but the outlook has been very favorable. We are hopeful this will be a great tool.
We selected Vena because it was moldable to our disparate systems. Ideally I'd have something sit natively within our ERP. But since our data points come from places outside of the ERP we needed something we could quickly and easily leverage and use Excel as our basis because there was so much need for personalization of reportions and subsequent usage.
If your audience has high technical acumen and experience with data cube environments then this is the product. If they are more point and click and less savvy, I think there are probably less robust, but easier to use solutions.

So I'll qualify this. Overall a 7, but that is mostly based on a really cumbersome and troubling implementation. We have some very specific concerns surrounding security that puts some limitations on the translation ability in Vena from one of our major data sources. It was a real pain to get Vena to address our concerns surrounding some of the cyber security vulnerabilities and work arounds. But more recently, now that we are active, they are quick to reply and always work through our concerns relatively quickly.
