Overall Satisfaction with Vidyard
Vidyard has been a very interesting tool that grew on me over time. You want highly personalized emails. Nobody opens or reads the generic templates anymore. Most of them are caught by spam filters before they even get to the prospect. Vidyard is different in that it provides a hyper-personalized message to your prospect and/or client. At first, I was a bit shy about using the video platform, but after a while, I got really good at it. It was like having your own small VLOG. I was sending out personalized messages with the client's name, up to 20-25 per week. My teammates and colleagues were doing the same. We tracked the open rates and they went through the roof. People were responding even if they weren't interested, and most commented on going the extra step. Vidyard was used by everyone on the sales team and although sometimes, we wouldn't make videos every day (meaning we had to cram them all in the next day), it turned out to be a benefit in the long-term. Vidyard addresses the cold-shoulder problem. It breaks the ice. It reminds you that there is a human on the other side and not a robot sending you that email.
Pros
- Vidyard breaks the ice.
- Vidyard is hyper-personalized.
- Vidyard reminds prospects you're human.
- Vidyard helps practice your VLOG skills.
- Vidyard enhances your creativity.
Cons
- More analytical tracking features
- Ability to write text over videos/edit videos
- More videos shared from the users community
- Vidyard created additional touch-points (i.e. email, phone, Vidyard, LinkedIn, postcard)
- Vidyard generated additional leads/appointments from clients who were unresponsive.
- Vidyard helps you practice your social media/vlog skills.
Vidyard was very niche-specific for sales and marketing and that's why it was such a winner. Ideally, you can create a vlog on youtube but you can't embed it the same way and the spam filter may block it. LinkedIn video posts are good too but too general and may not get the audience you're looking for. They're all great alternatives but Vidyard takes it a step beyond by becoming a tool you can prospect with and literally make a video for, for each of your prospects, in a matter of minutes, and hyper-personalized.
