Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint
WatchGuard AuthPoint is being used across our organisation. It addresses the requirement by our business insurer to have a 2FA VPN implementation in place.
- Ease of use - Users with limited IT skills are able to use this without issue.
- Backed up by great support - WatchGuard support reply to queries very quickly.
- AuthPoint app works well across all different mobile OS types.
- If the cloud solution goes offline, it is sometimes difficult to get answers from WatchGuard as to what is happening with regards to the outage.
- Once the initial outlay was paid, the ongoing costs are proving to be very low.
- Duo / Cisco Secure Access and by Duo
We trialed Duo and AuthPoint and found that the technical support from WatchGuard was so much better than what was available from Cisco. Instead of waiting days for responses, we would receive responses within hours of logging a query. In addition, AuthPoint's cloud integration with our on premise LDAP server was easy to set up, whereas with Duo, you had to manual create configuration scripts from a template and import onto your on prem servers, which led to a number of errors.
When compared to other 2FA VPN solutions we piloted, the simplicity of the cloud configuration meant we were able to run through testing very quickly, with our testing being pushed through to end user trials much quicker than with other products.
The usage of authentication via smartphone app has assisted us in getting users on board with the idea of using a 2nd layer of security to lock down our network.
There has been a reduction in helpdesk tickets from users asking us to reset forgotten passwords, as the SSO solution that AuthPoint presents makes the end user experience much more streamlined.
