Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint

While I am not a business owner our company has been a long time user of WatchGuard technologies. We provide IT support for many companies and some our clients request additional security, we have used other services similar to AuthPoint but others seem more difficult to implement. I find that end user training is much easier than other services and since WG firewalls are only ones we sell to clients, the WatchGuard name eases users when it comes to security. We are continuing to use AuthPoint and hope to sell more clients on it as we upgrade contracts each year.
  • Keeps workstations more secured when token is mandatory to sign in.
  • Easy to implement with Security Groups.
  • Multiple methods of Authentication to prevent unauthorized access. More than other services used.
  • Depending on the type of business, one size does not fit all.
  • Because I've set up very similar services, I found it easy but I think instructions for users not familiar with WG technology could have trouble implementing.
  • We've had mostly positive impact as long as services are targeted to correct businesses. Some are overkill for smaller business that do not see cost of protections and find the inconvenience off MFA worth investment.
We have used AuthLite. WatchGuard has more options but I found it easier to use, easier to teach users how to use but cost is significantly more
We do much work remotely and with our clients, we have saved much time and our clients from onsite fees by being able to make changes remotely.
We have received negative impact from phone app. Find that the token has gotten the least resistance.
With users having many different passwords for different services, this has lowered helpdesk calls significantly as a high percentage is PW resets.

We've had clients hit with Ransomware, after this our client invested much into upgrading security. MFA is necessary with larger clients with sensitive data stored on servers. I think this would be less appropriate for clients that have all files stored on SharePoint that can be accessed from any browser.
