Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint
We required Two-factor Authentication in our existing Watchguard Firewall environment. Watchguard Authpoint offered that level of security, while not needing to bring in another vendor's equipment, and make it work within our existing environment.
Pros
- Ease of user interaction
- Integration within our existing network
- Added layer of security while making it easier on the users with password management.
Cons
- So much documentation
- Easier integration with Active Directory
- Explain start to finish the steps for setup
- Making the addition without adding new hardware
- Seamless cutover for the clients
- Ease of use for clients and admins
As I already stated, the ability to roll this new product out without the need for new hardware has been a huge plus. We are able to see what is happening in real-time from anywhere.
There was some initial pushback by the users worrying about additional battery use by the client, but after rolling it out they saw no impact. It has been very well received by the users, despite this initial worry.
It has been great, once I got users to stop using their old passwords. The only ongoing issue has been users trying the wrong password so many times, it triggers Active Directory to lock their account.
