Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint
We use WatchGuard AuthPoint as a 2FA solution to secure our mobile device users and users located at remote locations. Currently, we have approximately 40 users that use AuthPoint for this purpose.
- Authentication is usually a seamless process
- The platform seems to be reasonably stable
- Installation and configuration instructions are relatively easy to understand and follow
- Gateway installation and configuration can be confusing and frustrating
- It's a little early to tell what long-term ROI has been acheved
- A 2FA solution for insurance purposes has been our primary concern when purchasing this software. So far so good there.
- Growing pains for users due to the change to 2FA have actually been minimal
The Cloud service model has been particularly useful for our company. We have been in the process of making the transition to more cloud-based and hosted services, so the cloud-based platform for WatchGuard AuthPoint has been particularly beneficial for us. It streamlines management and cuts down on support costs by allowing our IT department to manage it from anywhere - in the office, from home, or at a different site.
The actual use of the WatchGuard app to authenticate has not caused much push-back from my end users. Their primary complaint has been about the need to authenticate every 10 minutes, even when behind a WatchGuard firewall. I have struggled with successfully deploying a Network Location exception to stop this.
We do not use this feature at our Company.
