Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint
We integrated WatchGuard AuthPoint into our existing Watchguard network for MFA requirements along with the constant need to secure our networks. We were looking for a solution that addressed the security needs for VPN and remote office workplace and this was perfect.

- The mobile app is confusing as many users think the app is downloading, but it's just actively ready for connections.
- There are a couple of Watchguard apps on the appstore and many users seem to get confused with which to install
- The notification screen to approve the connection could be a little more clear.
- It has brought us into compliance with current security standards
- It does introduce an additional complexity to our environment, but it is needed regardless
- Being compliant with MFA requirements also helps lower insurance premiums.
We did not evaluate any other products while we were looking to comply with current MFA requirements, simply because we already had existing Watchguard products in our environments. Once we reviewed WatchGuard AuthPoint both from a technical as well as a cost perspective, we didn't feel we needed to look any further. We did opt for the free trial prefore we committed however.
WatchGuard AuthPoint is a perfect product to be cloud based. Every piece of hardware that we can offload is helpful to lower our in house IT workload. Also in todays growing work from home trends, cloud based solutions help the work flow of both the end user as well as the IT staff.
Rollout of the WatchGuard AuthPoint app was easy, and most of our users had very few questions. Since WatchGuard AuthPoint does require the installation onto their phone, we did have some users that were not exactly comfortable with have work software on their personal phones. There does not appear to be an alternative for users to authenticate other than the app on the mobile device.
It is great that WatchGuard AuthPoint provides SSO integration. Managing credentials for our users is ever growing with so many applications moving into this direction. I can't imagine any software in todays world at least being compliant and making SSO an option. Anything that we can do to simplify the user experience is great.
