Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

We have many clients with firebox firewalls deployed. We manage these firewalls for our clients and use them for things like secure vpn access, as well as securing their edge with the firewall policies

Pros

  • Simplified deployment wizards
  • Good technical support
  • SD wan built in without additional license

Cons

  • UI is outdated and slow
  • Some features feel clunky, like authentication
  • Have to go to multiple places in the hi to achieve one thing
  • Edge security has prevented numerous external breaches
  • Secured BPN has enabled work from home.
  • They are difficult to reconfigure compared to other security products when you take over from another it provider.
We are the partner. We have worked with WatchGuard support and our account manager and se. All have been great
I would expect ease of reporting. Centralized insights gathered from multiple tools and reported holistically. Alerting and ticket generation via my psa. And reduced friction from managing multiple consoles
I find WatchGuard's Network Security interface clunky and outdated. I’ve had to dig in multiple locations to find the answer to a question numerous times. Reviewing and reconfiguring a WatchGuard that has been deployed by someone else is time consuming compared to competitive products. I inherited 50+ WatchGuard Network Security fireboxes during an acquisition and have been struggling to get caught up. Training seems somewhat lackluster but their documentation is good. I would struggle to recommend or repurchase WatchGuard Network Security at this current stage though.

Do you think WatchGuard Network Security delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with WatchGuard Network Security's feature set?

No

Did WatchGuard Network Security live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of WatchGuard Network Security go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy WatchGuard Network Security again?

No

As someone with considerable Fortinet experience coming to WatchGuard Network Security I find them affordable but clunky. If a very cost conscious client needed a solution I would consider recommending WatchGuard Network Security.
