Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As an IT services company, we have people distributed around the globe. For that reason, we use Webex App to keep everyone virtually close, using voice, video, and content sharing along the spaces and groups we deploy inside the app. Without Webex App, our Swiss knife for collaboration, it would be almost impossible to keep everyone updated and collaborating with each other.

Pros and Cons

It can be used for voice communications (VoIP and PSTN), video calls, video conference, connect to a video endpoint, we can exchange messages in the safe and always on environment and last but not least, we can share content [in] the app [with] a group of people or individually.
The app has the same look and feel in all the platforms, Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, and Android which is a great value considering user experience.
The robustness and the stability of the app is a key point. You can use it all day long and no glitches, no issues, it just works.

Although they're unifying some features of the Webex Meetings inside Webex App in the desktop platform, on mobile, it still lacks this. Sometimes it's a little frustrating that you need to have 2 apps to run a meeting.
It's not a big issue, but I think they could streamline a little more how much resources the app needs to run in a PC.
Some people complain about the app update process, which depends on the Control Hub schedule instead of a user option. They could implement an admin option to allow user to force the update instead of having to wait for the scheduler.

The Webex cloud has the biggest uptime comparing to the others and this is really a key point when your company business [relies] on the cloud software. The platform can't stop. Also, the user experience of Webex is easily recognized behind the concept of the Big Green Button, which is present in every app and platform they support. So, even if the user changes [from] computer or smartphone, the user experience will be the same.

With that, you can deploy Webex App on Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS or Android with the exact same look and feel. That has a huge impact in adoption and usability and also it reduces the impact on training.

I don't see any scenario where it could be less appropriate. Communication and collaboration between people is very important in any scenario today. So, Webex App is the most secure (NSA approved), the easiest to use, and quick to deploy software that fits with every company or team. If you have distributed teams, it's even better to keep everyone in sync.
