Overall Satisfaction with WebEx Event Center

WebEx is often used here because an external party uses that platform. We would join a WebEx meeting, usually for some type of tutorial or training. It is used by various departments here and provides a way for users to see an instructor do a demo that involves software or a computer usage.
  • Training - trusted platform for training purposes
  • Real-time - remote participants can provide real-time feedback via voice or chat
  • Interface - the interface is fairly simple and easy to understand for someone who has never used the platform before. The barrier to entry is relatively low.
  • There always seems to be room for video quality improvement (not a necessity, but would be nice)
  • Mobile screensharing from iOS/Android (and other mobile) devices would be a great feature
  • The mobile app should be able to track meetings a user has been invited to, but does not do so (yet)
  • As with many platforms, it saves money (flight, hotel, other expenses) on having a trainer in person
  • It also saves time; instead of waiting a few days for a trainer to arrive on site, we can schedule a training session and have it up and running within a couple of hours or a day
  • Because it is a widely used platform, many of the support questions have been addressed in forums online and it is not difficult to find answers to common problems
WebEx seems to be the first platform and most widely used. Supported by a quality brand (Cisco) known for its video conference and teleconference technology, WebEx continues to be a consistent, reliable, platform that has outlasted the others.
WebEx is well suited for a no hassle way to do an online training or tutorial that requires users to learn about software or a website on the computer.

WebEx is not really suited for a simple meeting that only requires voice (phone call). It is also not suited if participants need to share a mobile application from a mobile device.

30 - Various functions from education to HR. Depends on what training is needed...

  • Remote collaboration
  • Nothing too innovative; just training
  • If better features are implemented, we could take even more advantage
It is a great and reliable platform

Configuring WebEx Event Center

Just right for this type of product; more configurability options would make the platform confusing.
No specific recommendations as we tend to use the platform as is. Some do opt to show/hide the chat and make the screen share screen larger depending on personal preference.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - Really easy...
No - we have not done any custom code

Yes - For joining and attending meetings, it works great. Does not work so well for screensharing from a mobile device.

WebEx Event Center Reliability

The scalability is really easy
WebEx is available 24/7, as long as the user has a reliable internet connection and the WebEx servers are up (they are typically up when we need it).
Fast, reliable, and consistent performance

Integrating WebEx Event Center

We have not used nor do we intend to use the integration options in the near future.
We have not integrated other systems with WebEx; we tend to use it as a standalone software
I am not sure of the integration support since that is not our current need.
Try it out and see if it works for your needs
