Overall Satisfaction with Webexpenses

We use Webexpenses for both corporate card and normal expense reporting.
Coming from a mostly manual process, web expenses has saved a lot of time and effort. The OCR recognition of receipts is spot on and the interface is easy to use. Only thing is that it is struggling a bit to bounce back and forth between corporate card and reimbursable expenses.
I would highly recommend this product.
  • Excellent at OCR - reading the receipts so I don't have to enter every detail manually.
  • Not great at bouncing back and forth between corp card and reimbursable expenses.
  • Well organized ability to attach receipts to specific reports.
  • Review process is straightforward and presents relevant information well.
  • Better way to separate expenses from a single user - perhaps one that has a P-Card - corporate card as well as other reimbursable expenses.
Great OCR and ability to match receipts to items but some parts of the UI are clunky. It would be nice to be able to edit everything you need from the main list screen - some items you have to click into each item individually to edit. Also the flexibility (multiple ways to accomplish something) gets in the way - a simpler streamlined workflow would be preferred.
Support is provided internally so I have no reference.
Just expense approval.
It does the job - again, some streamlined workflows would simplify the experience.
Better OCR - faster, more efficient.
The Webexpenses mobile app is a pain though - it takes 3-4 clicks to do what Expensify does in one screen. In particular, once you upload a receipt, then it OCRs it and gives you the ability to edit - no need to edit brightness as a click... just our. Also - if it is a company card receipt it still defaults to reimbursable - causing another click. Then you verify twice - two more clicks. Mobile app needs work.

Do you think Webexpenses delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Webexpenses's feature set?

Yes

Did Webexpenses live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Webexpenses go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Webexpenses again?

Yes

Medium to large corporate expense reporting with a specific approval hierarchy seems ideal for this kind of software. There are other web based packages that work fine for smaller entities and are pay-to-play but the most critical aspect of these packages is time... The better the OCR, the easier and more intuitive the interface, the better use of my time.
