We use Acquia DAM (Widen) at our university to house all of the marketing department's assets. All photos we take, designs we make, logos that are created as well as reports and other documents. We then share these assets with those around campus who need them as well as internally to collaborate on projects.

We want to expand across campus to all departments, not just marketing. We also have ideas for more portals and new things we could be doing.
It has helped us to have all of our assets in one place so we know what we have and we can show clients everything we have done and everything that we could do for them. It has been a great help in centralizing our brand.
Acquia DAM (Widen) seems to have much more experience with a DAM than Adobe currently does. Also, AEM is used more for web content while we are focused on a solid working DAM right now.
