Overall Satisfaction with WordPress

We use it as a primary CMS for our marketing website. We publish regular updates, blog posts, and events for our end customers. Wordpress and its plugins form an essential part of our online presence. Apart from our internal tooling, it is the main way we communicate with our customers.

Pros

  • Plugins
  • Themes
  • Range of customizations.

Cons

  • Speed
  • Ease of use.
  • Editors
  • Lots of spam visitors and spam comments.
  • Good online presence and SEO.
  • Poor site speed by default.
Wordpress can be good to use in small and large teams; however, as the complexity of plugins, themes, and add-ons rise, the complexity raises too. Often, it is hard to navigate where things are and what does what. Sometimes, plugins can break other features' functionality, making the admin site challenging to navigate.
Wordpress is an open source, and it will always come with a set of drawbacks but also benefits. We see a major drawback in the hosting, which can get complex, and it becomes hard to have a fully functioning and fast site running. Other solutions are often SaaS, which handles deployment automatically but doesn't allow too much customization.

Do you think WordPress delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with WordPress's feature set?

Yes

Did WordPress live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of WordPress go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy WordPress again?

Yes

Wordpress is well suited for small and large applications; however, we can imagine choosing a different solution that can scale more easily, which is better for large-scale applications. We see that Wordpress gets very slow (depending on hosting, caching, and other things), but for a large-scale application, Wordpress needs a lot of customization to work.
