Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use [Workday Adapting Planning] as our sole planning tool in FP&A. We have all our budgeting and forecasting in [Workday Adapting Planning]. We partner with other departments to get their insights for the forecast, but we are the only group that actually uses the tool.

Return on Investment

Our forecast is more accurate and more flexible. We eliminated our massive excel workbook that had many issues.
Version control is no longer an issue.
We saved money in human resources as the model helps automate many processes.
We are connected to our ERP and CRM, which saves time and makes our model more accurate.

Alternatives Considered

Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management and Microsoft Excel

The main thing that sets [Workday] Adaptive [Planning] apart is the fact that it is a cloud based software, user friendly, and allows you to add to or change the model relatively easily. Hyperion is a good tool also but there is more flexibility with [Workday] Adaptive [Planning], and it feels more intuitive.

Overall I really like [Workday] Adaptive Planning, and I would recommend it. I love the flexibility of the tool, and it's relatively intuitive. I think it is easier to learn than most planning tools which enables you to implement quicker and ramp new users faster. It's relatively easy to add new models or forecasts to the instance, which is nice for growing companies. I have noticed the instance has had some performance degradation as we've grown, so that would be one thing that has been frustrating. Overall I think it's a great tool, though, and I would purchase it again.

Overall Workday Adaptive Planning is an intuitive and flexible cloud based planning tool that should be at the top of the list for consideration.
