Departments.

Business Problems: Time Tracking and Reporting, primarily.
  • Simplifies the Microsoft Project task organization approach to project management.
  • Provides for good summary reporting of all projects.
  • Provides templates that can be used for types of work that help novices plan their work based on prior similar types of projects.
  • Mass importing and loading from Excel or other tools.
  • Mass linking of tasks; providing a faster way to create and manage task dependencies.
  • Use of external resources (such as Capability Source) to help folks actually learn how to build and manage projects in Workfront.
  • More highly skilled project managers to consult and advise users, not just on the technical steps to do things in Workfront, but industry best practices in the setup of projects.
Workfront is the best solution of the competition I have seen.
It is well suited for all large scale projects. It is also well suited for routine, repetitive tasks, but the theory and approach must be modified to suit the specific work.
