Overall Satisfaction with Wrike

My organization manages complex strategic project and initiatives for a large global support organization, but we had very little in the way of meaningful reporting or any automated mechanisms to manage our portfolio or resources. Wrike has given us a powerful and customizable solution that helps reduce effort for our PMs, encourages offline collaboration (reducing reliance on in-person meetings), and provides valuable business insights to our leaders to help drive strategic decision making. We use blueprints and custom projects for the different kinds of work we do and new dashboards to accomplish this.

Pros

  • Customization of fields and task/project types to capture different kinds of work.
  • Easy to build dashboards that meet the needs of stakeholders on different levels.
  • Selective sharing permissions and integration with our disclosure mechanisms to protect sensitive information.
  • The ability to visualize datasets in multiple ways with the click of 1 button (table, list, gantt, and chart views).
  • The ability to foster offline collaboration and make participation in projects easier for our cross functional partners.

Cons

  • Recurring task functionality is very limited and sometimes buggy. Needs enhancement in future to be a truly powerful feature.
  • Inability to make fields "required" or easily report on missing information across multiple fields/projects creates a big challenge for holding users accountable for data accuracy.
  • Project<>Task hierarchy in new dashboards still lacking.
  • Administrative capabilities across multiple spaces remains a big challenge for those who are not allowed account-level admin privileges.
  • Wrike has saved our leaders hours of manual reporting time understanding the status of our projects and being able to easily communicate what's happening to our senior leadership.
  • We have a clearer understanding of the time we're spending across our portfolio.
  • We are able to easily see which stakeholders are using our resources the most, and better manage our efficiency.
This feature is disabled for my organization unfortunately
Wrike has so much capability that new users often find it very overwhelming at first. There are also still lots of opportunities for more consistency across menus (i.e. drop downs have different options in different places that can be confusing). Automation rule capability is still somewhat limited, and recurring task functionality leaves a lot to be desired.
This is the first 3rd party project management software my team has utilized.

Do you think Wrike delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Wrike's feature set?

Yes

Did Wrike live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Wrike go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Wrike again?

Yes

Any teams that work on complex, cross-functional projects would benefit from the powerful offline collaboration functionality Wrike provides. It is also a great tool for teams that work a "task based" environment (ticketing, etc) to provide easy tracking and visibility to stakeholders.
