Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent®

I am the Commissions Manager. Xactly Incent automates the commissions process for our sales and BDR teams. We automate the feed from Salesforce to Xactly Incent so that our teams can automatically see what their commissions are at any point throughout each month. Xactly Incent also streamlines the document handling process so that the reps can sign their plans in Xactly Incent and review them at any point throughout the year. We currently have reporting for our reps that allows them to see their attainment at a glance. With the new reporting coming out on April 18th we are really excited to see the upcoming changes for Xactly Incent.

Pros

  • Xactly Incent allows quick feed changes with Connect.
  • Xactly Incent allows intuitive plan design so that quick changes can be made with plan changes.
  • Document Management allows quick disbursement of plans to reps as well as record management of the plans.
  • Xactly Incent allows visibility to the reps at any time so that they do not have to wonder what their commissions are.

Cons

  • Reporting is a big issue with Xactly Incent; however, they are rolling out a new reporting platform on April 18th which we are thrilled about.
  • If Connect was made more intuitive that would be amazing. It is very funtional and easy to use currently. It would be great if it was designed more like the plan design.
  • We are able to have 27 different plans that are all automated within Xactly Incent with a very lean team of 2 people. The number of questions asked by reps to Commissions significanly.
  • We were able to reduce the accrual process time to 1 day with over 98% accuracy for payouts.
  • All compensation is paid to reps within less than 1 month after close of the period. This is an improvement from the prior process that sometimes went into the next month for payouts. This change reduced the complexity for acccruals as well as made the teams much happier with the timing of their payouts.
We are using sales performance to help create better plans for the upcoming year with more aggressive modeling that allows the business to have more competitive plans. It allows more accurate forecasting for payouts as well as reduces the turnover of the reps. It also allows for more competitive tiers for payout of the managers as well and the flexibility to have additional plans for niche sales positions in the business.
We are generally not using Xactly Incent for the territory and quota management. We are utilizing the system for forecasting as it is easy to pull data from the system and manipulate past results to project updated payouts with updated plans. Xactly Incent also has the functionality to add in projections based off of new plans.
By integrating to Salesforce we have up to date commission amounts for each of our reps. There are less questions from the reps regarding if they are receiving crediting for their sales. There is much more visibility as to how the plans work and what the payout for the month is based off of individual sales.

The platform is absolutely amazing for all parts of the commission process. The only drawback is reporting. The new funcionality will be coming out and from the presentations it looks like the new platform will be taking care of the previous issues. I cannot give the software a perfect 10 yet; however, I am anticipating rating it a 10 after the reporting comes out.
