Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent®

We use Xactly Incent to calculate credits and commissions, report results to sellers and to executives, and generate reports in a payroll-compatible format. It replaces a time-consuming array of Excel spreadsheets and efficiently enables the processing of sales data.

Pros

  • Efficiently processes (and reprocesses if necessary) sales and adjustment data.
  • Easily digestible reporting for sellers.
  • Ability for the administrative user to update rules, plans, and structures.

Cons

  • The Analytics function seems robust, but is unintuitive to the point that we don't use it (in favor of exporting full data and building our own reports).
  • While changing rules and logic for fields existing in Xactly is straightforward, adding new data fields to be pulled in from our Salesforce system requires services support.
  • Monthly sales calculation and reporting used to take 2 dedicated commissions people 4 full days to manually pull from Salesforce and run through Excel for 200 people. With Incent, 1 person is running 350 people with the ability to turn around in a day.
  • Sellers can trust that data doesn't have hardcoded adjustment "time bombs" from prior periods that we used to complain of when running Excel books.
We're using the Incent data to categorize and manage our commissions. This allows us to match up the revenue data for each metric against the commissions earned, and adjust weights, rates, and quotas for following years plans as necessary.
We use Xactly Forecasting for sales forecasting, and appreciate its integration with Salesforce opportunity data and Incent quota data for the reps and managers that regularly use the Forecasting platform.
Integration allows us to directly pull the sales data, rather than manual downloads and uploads that would take time and could add errors.
Sales and Sales Operations are using the Xactly Forecasting platform to forecast sales. As far as I am aware, no other departments are using Xactly platforms.
I have not used any other dedicated Incentive tool other than homegrown solutions.

It seems like an excellent and adaptable tool for our use case of several hundred sellers and a single data source. Further, I've seen glimpses of its abilities beyond our requirements (we've barely touched on the Trigger components) but know that it could certainly fill a different set of needs than we have.
