Abstract

Our design department is indeed very happy with Abstract to solve their issues with regard to versioning and collaboration, etc. The admin side of the program is not that great. It's easy and simple, however, it would be nice to limit access more easily and maybe even link Abstract with our directory. The flexibility for accessing the work designers do can't be beaten!

Bloomfire

Bloomfire is well suited for situations in which I am seeking information, advice, counsel, or resources that could reside in/among 100+ individuals serving in the same role that I am in. In the past, this would involve an enterprise-wide email that would have responses ranging from the "Reply All" type to "one-offs." Bloomfire provides a "single source" for such information.

Bloomfire

  • The search function within Bloomfire is incredibly smart and intuitive to use. It not only recommends highly relevant posts and series, but also recommends team members with related expertise so you have a "people resource" to contact as well.
  • Bloomfire's interface is clean, simple, and highly customizable. I was able to set it up myself with very little HTML knowledge and minimal help from my onboarding coach.
  • The support team at Bloomfire is incredible. They listen to every idea, suggestion, and complaint; respond quickly; and are super clear in their communication. They also offer a customer-centric knowledge base through their own tool that's a great place to learn about your new software system.
  • Bloomfire met all of our technical requirements as well: it's compatible with SSO, housed in the cloud, has massive storage capabilities, and so on.
  • There's a built-in webcast/screencast recorder, and the system automagically transcribes any video you upload - this was a HUGE selling point for us! The ability to record on-screen demos and meetings and have a full transcript of each recording is unheard of in other KMS softwares.

Bloomfire

  • When we create new documents and search for them immediately after they do not appear in the search but when you choose the "recent" filter they do. I have reported this to BF in the past but it has not been addressed yet.
  • Occasionally posts will become corrupted and literally disappear from the search altogether yet if you had a direct link to it this still works. Again I have reported this to BF for improvement.
  • User management, especially password reset requests seem to cause issues. Either the reset email is not received or the end user has trouble resetting it and almost always asks us, the admins, to assist. It would be good to have the ability to reset passwords on our own for the user.
  • Members cannot be deleted only deactivated. We would like to be able to purge the deactivated members and simplify our list of users.

Well, I'm repeating myself here but that to me is Bloomfire's biggest strength. I have yet to see a piece of software that searches so well, so fast, among different types of documents. I have so many different bits of information at my fingertips, I use Bloomfire daily because it's the backbone of my job.

I have literally never seen a system issue with it. Many of the other programs we use have issues with crashing, not wanting to load, or other things where we need to log off and try again. We use Bloomfire to open a tool we use every day, and I have yet to see an issue.

Bloomfire

We use Tracker to manage contacts with clients, so it serves a different function than Bloomfire. Tracker has been less satisfactory than Bloomfire, but it has a different role in our company. We're moving to SalesForce soon, but keeping Bloomfire.

Bloomfire

  • User friendly and makes script based selling very easy.
  • Definitely contributes to customer satisfaction as customers can sometimes throw an odd question at you but are pleased to know we can respond efficiently, all thanks to Bloomfire.
  • It also contributes to effective human resource management as we do not need to be bothering the team managers with all our queries, since most work related information is quite easily available on Bloomfire.
