Well suited for small agencies such as ours. Maybe not suitable or overkill for solo entrepreneurs. Not sure. But it's a great tool for small teams

This is very much a mid-level user bit of kit. it is not as easy to produce a report compared to something like DeepCrawl, so it has a bit more technical user spec to it, I would say that it comes between Moz and SEO Monitor for Ease of use, All in all, a great tool. It comes right n the middle of the market though, both in functionality, and likeability.

Cons

  • There are other tools in the market that can get you more than that.
  • Lack of integration with tools.

  • Exporting reports from Web CEO to CSV or Excel could use some work in terms of formatting. The reports usually need a lot of tweaking to look right and reuse in other client reporting.
  • We find that Bing rankings are sometimes inaccurate or pick up errors while running.
  • The ability to export historical data and put it on someone's else's Web CEO account would be huge. Sometimes clients transition to other people with a Web CEO account and the data isn't easily transferrable.

Essential tool for my search engine optimization operations. I use this tool most of all the tools at my disposal for organic search reporting and writing tasks. I wish that accredited universities would find this program and adopt it, because it's really the right stuff in terms of how to get search results. The paid search strategy saves me enough time and returns enough performance in that time that the cost is easily justifiable to anyone with any sort of analytical accountability

The UI is awesome and the recently redesigned the entire product. This isn't like Hootsuite which stays stagnant for years. It looks modern and functions like a modern tool. It can be a little sluggish at times but that is partially due to it querying so much amazing data at once :)

Web CEO's support is amazing. They call them "Support Angels." :) They have always responded within 12 hours and they don't sugar coat anything. If there was a bug, they give you a straight answer and tell you it was a bug and they have their developers working on it. They also have had 0 downtime in over a year that I have been using them.

Alternatives Considered

I've used Moz fairly extensively and I've found Agency Anaytics overall is a better tool for managing and monitoring keywords and SEO improvement opportunities. It's easy to use, quick to set up and less expensive than Moz.

I have found limitations using WebCEO (or any other general SEO software) versus dedicated function software. WebCEO might work fine for a small company or individual working with a single site but an agency working with multiple large clients where expectations are high and reporting is a critical point of success, I prefer to use dedicated function software which specialize in specific areas of web marketing (.e.g. - link building -- MajesticSEO or Link Research Tools).

  • The tools in web ceo will help you hone in on a particular campaign to associate with web pages, which leads to conversion
  • If you are doing a/b testing on multiple pages, or competitor analysis of their web and seo presence, web ceo is a great tool to have, again due to its ease of use.
  • When we used web ceo at my previous company, we saw immediate results as we used the information to help boost our organic and ppc ratings.
