Amazon QuickSight
Chose Amazon QuickSight
As per our requirement, the Amazon Eco System leads us to use the Amazon Quick Sight platform. It works well with Redshift datasources.
Chose Amazon QuickSight
Due to the fact that our platform infrastructure is mainly based on AWS, it was seamless and effortless for integration. Our second consideration is the operating cost in which QuickSight is reasonably low compared to other tools we had evaluated. From a development …
Chose Amazon QuickSight
QuickSight is best suited to augment your other BI solutions, not as a primary tool. It still very immature when you compare it to products like Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI and others. However, it is very easy to get connected to data sources and a good way to …

All of the other reporting platforms my organization has used previously were within our CRM and not a standalone program. In that we were very limited in being able to slice and dice the data the way that we wanted to.

In our case, we are storing our large amount of data in the cloud so using QuickSight adds up to the performance of the reporting. We are using it as a secondary reporting tool so that a business user can generate their own report. We are using Tableau as our primary reporting …

I'm likely to recommend it because it would become so native if other cloud services are based on AWS infrastructure, like our current setup. It is very seamlessly integrated with other services to feed in data for the visualization. In addition, supporting a reasonably large number of users concurrently is not an issue and should be able to scale horizontally as needed.

Microsoft Power BI is great for sales tracking, financial reporting, and real-time operations monitoring. It integrates data from multiple sources, creating interactive dashboards for better decision-making. However, it's less ideal for real-time big data processing, offline access, or when deep customization is needed. It works best for structured reporting but struggles with highly complex data models.

Pros

Cons
  • One of the primary challenges I've had with Amazon QuickSight so far is that some of the reports I want to build use data from different data sets. Instead of being able to put all of the information I want to see into one report.
  • Some of our Amazon QuickSight reports only update every 24 hours. It would be great to see that data in real-time.
  • I would remove the various time zones from Amazon QuickSight and only use the time zone we are in.

  • It would be easier for users could Microsoft Power BI and Excel used the same programming languages.
  • Would like to see the online version of Microsoft Power BI be as powerful as the desktop version.
  • Publishing a Microsoft Power BI file online and then having to save the file is somewhat redundant.
  • Would like to export each page or chart as an image.

Microsoft Power BI is an excellent and scalable tool. It has a learning curve, but once you get past that, the sky is the limit and you can build from the most simple to the most complex dashboards. I have built everything from simple reports with only a few data points to complex reports with many pages and advanced filtering.

Usability
It is easy to use and set up no need to put in so much effort. Once build, the dashboard can be used with multiple clients with the same domain. It provides multiple connectivity options which makes it a versatile option for reporting.

Only the app is bad; everything else is fantastic. It has a logical user flow and I barely needed any guidance on how to use it when I first started. As with most softwares there are unseen capabilities I've needed to be shown in order to use, but for my day-to-day tasks I could have figured it out without any training

Takes a little bit to get used to it. Not natively intuitive but fairly straight forward to pick up. Also docking it a few points because you can create a really clean, simple UI in Claude very quickly that's faster than building all of this yourself in Microsoft Power BI.

Very good integration with Google apps. Some complexity is called however in the synchronization between Google Tasks and Maven links tasks. This can sometimes lead to duplicate records in Google Tasks. It has been dissolvable that becomes cumbersome if not properly curated.

Kantata support is fantastic! Any issues that arise are always handled quickly and efficiently. Granted, we haven't had many issues to report. Typically, my team tends to only reach out to support if they need assistance remembering how to do something or asking about an improvement. We had Kantata build an integration when we first started using the software, and the support team worked hard to listen and improve the integration.

It is a fantastic tool, you can do almost everything related with data and reports, it is a perfect substitutive of Power Point and Excel with a high evolution and flexibility, and also it is very friendly and easy to share. I think all companies should have Power BI (or other BI tool) in their software package and if they are in the MS Suite, for sure Power BI should be the one due to all the benefits of the MS ecosystem.
