Considered Multiple Products
Arcserve UDP
Chose Arcserve UDP
Arcserve [UDP] has stood the test of time due to its low cost-to-feature value proposition for our company. We have ultimately decided to move to a more MSP-friendly product in N-Able Backup, but Arcserve [UDP] kept us around for years with their reliable and inexpensive …
Chose Arcserve UDP
We used to have Veritas but it was never reliable; we had to set it up several times and it just never worked as expected. Arcserve UDP turned out to be easier to set up, manage, very reliable, and their team is always close to the customer. Our local partner has provided …
Chose Arcserve UDP
Barracuda was way too slow--I really liked their cloud console, but the backups took forever, never even got to try a restore as our trial period ran out before we could get enough backups done to test.
Unitrends was a bit better, but it had a 3rd-party tool for some features …
Forcepoint DLP
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Nobody can compete with Forcepoint DLP.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
I think Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention pales in comparison to the feature set you get with M365 (which is likely included in most corporations existing licensing!). We moved on from Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention to implement Microsoft's solution instead.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
User friendly solution that makes it easy to deploy and manage. Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention very effective to protecting our valuable data on endpoints and where data lives like in the Cloud, server and on-premises disk drives and its valuable to just set policies once and …
Chose Forcepoint DLP
We tested and evaluated Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention and this solution suited the best for our requirement. We optimized it to suit our requirement of 250 to 300 users in our head office. We will be adding a few more users under this solution which are having Windows and MAC …
Chose Forcepoint DLP
I find Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention to be a superior product compared to the other two alternatives mentioned. It is improving, though, at a slower pace but I have seen it upgrading to its best level. There is more value associated with this tool than the other two. …
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Because it allows the creation of reports and statistics, risk assessment, real-time monitoring, fingerprints, machine learning, [and] a dictionary function--so good and useful.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
I have evaluated CoSoSys but the reporting part did not hit the mark. Also, a high number of false positives was a concern for me. I need a predefined report which needs to be compatible with my compliance requirement, which was missing in CoSoSys. However CoSoSys is good for …
Chose Forcepoint DLP
We have not done a ton of testing with alternatives at this point.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Netskope, Digital Guardian. We've stuck with Forcepoint to limit the number of major architectural changes in a given year. If we achieved diminishing marginal returns on its ROI, then we'd change because the prevention is good, but the headache has to be less than the …
Chose Forcepoint DLP
We have tried out Office 365 and Trend Micro DLP but those solutions have not worked out as we hoped. That said, when we looked at Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention, there were only minor issues we came across that did not have any negative impact and overall, the solution was …
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Proofpoint has proven to be a superior product. In our experience Proofpoint has fewer false positives and more out-of-the-box pattern detections requiring less customization. However, there is still a value in having more than one DLP …
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Haven't used other product.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
We didn't evaluate any other solutions at the time of purchase. Forcepoint was the leader on the Gartner report and we went with their recommendation.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
We selected Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention because it meets the size of our organization's needs and the ease of implementation compared to other solutions.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
We selected Forcepoint DLP as we already were using their Web and Email filtering products. The integration among their products is very strong and we did not want to introduce too many additional products into our environment. We have limited security resources so a high level …
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Easier to user and cheaper
Chose Forcepoint DLP
We are currently in the evaluation phase to compare overall cost and functionality. Blue Coat runs in a very similar way that Forcepoint does. Check Point runs at the same gateway layer that the firewall does so its policy can be run on the same hardware of existing environments.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Forcepoint stacks up pretty well against its competitors. It has more functionality then Cisco and is comparable to McAfee. McAfee is one of the few I would feel at ease with replacing our currently solution with.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Overall it was the best we had, SSL decryption worked better than Bluecoat and Cisco traffic had a lot of certificate issues. Websense was the quickest to get up and running and their sales engineering team is superb.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Websense has similar features to other DLP solutions. We selected Websense based upon other organizations' experiences. I cannot compare the negatives to Websense as we did not deploy any other vendor DLP solutions in the same scale.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Websense, at the time, was the only content filtering solution to offer a hybrid option of on-prem and cloud services. We are up for renewal soon and will likely compare them to other vendors.
Chose Forcepoint DLP
Websense gave us the best flexibility for our enterprise configuration and setup. It all does not take up anything on our computers when we use Websense one armed off our firewalls and routers. We found this very easy to set up and transparent to our users and network. The …

Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We use the ManageEngine Log360 bundle, which includes ADAudit Plus and EventLog Analyzer. Back in 2016, when we evaluated the ManageEngine solution, we compared it to an existing Juniper JSA deployment, mapping specific PCI DSS requirements against both products. That was 10 …
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
Compared to similar solutions, ManageEngine ADAudit Plus offers a user-friendly interface, comprehensive audit reports, and reliable real-time alerts at a competitive price, making it a practical choice for our organization.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We have had it for so long, I don't remember what we compared agains. It does what we need and the price is good enough that we don't need to look elsewhere.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
While Netwrix is a great tool, we found ADAudit Plus more attractive due to its pricing. We also use other ManageEngine products, so we're familiar with their ecosystem and support, and it makes co-term renewals really easy for administrative purposes - we can send one renewal …
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We did not try any other products. We started with ManageEngine, and we're happy with it.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
Beats them on price and functionality
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
For AD auditing management, an AD audit is one of the top tools on the market. I have not found anything lacking or missing in either the reports or the platform.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
very easy and friendly use. also upgrades
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We selected ManageEngine ADAudit Plus because the reporting and alerting features are useful and the cost of the product is not prohibitive
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
Very different to compare
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We were using the Snare client that was only capable of forwarding logs to some type of syslog server. To be able to get meaning full reports or alerts from that system it would all need to be customized. This would require that you had the expertise on staff to set up these …
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We selected ManageEngine ADAudit Plus for two simple reasons. One is it is so easy to use. Logging in and being able to easily see data, find data and gather data is so much easier then other products on the market. The other reason is what you get out of the product. We get …
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
I think their product is slightly different but has overlap, better long-term logging in ManageEngine ADAudit Plus but much better real time metrics and response from Tenable
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We use Varonis for different things than ManageEngine ADAudit Plus. They complement each other well.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
I have not looked at other products like AD AUdit
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We haven't haven't previously used any similar product before ManageEngine ADAudit Plus.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
Choice for ManageEngine was made on support, ease of implementation and cost. We were looking for a monitoring solution that was on premises and cost effective.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
ManageEngine ADManager Plus
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
We are still using both but I prefer ManageEngine for AD auditing by a mile. The gui interface and prebuilt reporting is great
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
ADAudit Plus was the clear winner for us. Price, features, ease of use, etc.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
In terms of features, ADAudit Plus offers a comprehensive set of features for monitoring and auditing Active Directory, including real-time alerts, detailed reports, and user behavior analytics. The platform also offers support for multiple platforms, including Windows, UNIX, …
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
All products have their niche.
What stood out for us - 1) we use other products from manageengine. Made sense to keep it to one pane of glass, so to speak.
2) price. at the price point we got a lot for our buck. 3) features. It does exactly what we needed.
Chose ManageEngine ADAudit Plus
ADAudit had a better ability to easily customize reports. Also the interface was snappier. Netrix was kind of clunky to use and not as intuitive.

Midscale infrastructure where a simple and easy to configure and use backup solution is needed to protect workloads on-prem or in the cloud workloads. If you don't want to keep your backups on-prem, you can have them in the cloud.

ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is well suited for monitoring Active Directory changes, tracking user activity, and meeting compliance requirements. Its real-time alerts and audit reports help quickly identify security issues and simplify troubleshooting. It may be less suitable for very small environments that have minimal auditing needs

Pros
  • Stability of agents
  • Flexibility (able to load on low-end hardware in a pinch)
  • Reliability of backed up data

  • The Forcepoint Endpoint Data Loss Prevention Endpoint module is applied to secure data being used at endpoints, like from Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft capabilities, also other functions like email and FTP, Active Sync, etc. It secures the data in use at the endpoint.
  • The Forcepoint Endpoint Data Loss Prevention Network Module is applied for the traffic being used in network capabilities like email, FTP, and web. It also secures the data on the move in the network.
  • Forcepoint Data Discover--the capability to discover the data which is sensitive for the organization and lies across the network; with the discovery tool, we can define the data, which is important based on regulatory and compliance risk.
  • OCR (optical character recognition) capabilities also come with the Data Discover Module, by which we can see the embedded text inside the image and that helps to prevent sensitive data theft.

  • ManageEngine ADAudit Plus changes for user and group management can be looked up in builtin reports
  • You can build your own reports based on almost every logic you can think of
  • You have the ability to create alerts based on logic and filters and sendout custom alerts to email, SMS or other means.
  • First you need to understand the basics of the software, after that the software itself is very helpfull in configuring specific items.
  • I really love the support that ManageEngine is giving the customer, for all questions I use the chat on their website. This is for me the best remote support I ever saw, and I saw a lot in my 20 years of experience in IT.

Cons
  • Still a nich player
  • It has taken long to mature and evolve but they are on the way.
  • Dedup is not the best.
  • Not a SaaS solution.

  • Remote filtering is not as advanced as we would like.
  • Support time is not as quick as needed in most cases.
  • Upgrades of appliances and software is not as easy as other solutions.
  • HTTPS inspection needs to hand a valid cert and doesnt work correctly with all vendors.

  • It's based on Java engine that is slow -- reports are often difficult to build (we are going to upgrade the machine it's running on to see if this is the issue)
  • Keeping this software up to date is a pain; there should be a better "update" function
  • The naming and navigation are terrible -- it's never clear which feature you're looking for and where it's hidden in the menus
  • Adding machines is not as easy as it should be; occasionally there are IP conflicts that are nearly impossible to resolve

We have been fairly happy with the product and how it has worked. We have looked at other vendors for url filter and such and have not found one that meets our needs or does what we have been doing with Websense. The product has been fairly stable and we have only had a few issues in the past. We have all seen that it was one of the highest leaders from the Gartner Group Magic Quadrant for Web Gateways.

It works great for everything we need and use. Any issues in the software are pretty easy to resolve with tech support. And they are very responsive to resolving issues. Even ones where a fix/patch are required. At present, the software does everything we need it to for compliance, audit, and account review.

Usability
It works great in our infrastructure, we have reduced the risk of losing information at a lower TCO compared to other solutions. The implementation process was precise and fast and upgrades have always been smooth. It delivers what it promises.

For us, Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention was difficult to administer, did not work well when it did work, was incredibly expensive for the feature set you get, and was difficult to uninstall when we moved on from the software. Once it was fully set up, it worked occasionally for us.

ADAudit with its cloud and on prem install option allows any organization to get in on AD report management. Whether you need to report internally only for for external audit controls its a great tool with flexibility to handle most any user or group report capability. Since this also includes m365 integration it enables IT pros to administer usage, license, cost control and permission access to most anything in Microsoft's portfolio. Its a great tool all around for AD integrated access needs.

Pretty good--I haven't actually had to call them much so it's hard to say. The box works well enough and most of my issues have been related to the rest of my network, rather than the appliance itself.

Support from Forcepoint has been lacking. When calling in with a high priority issue we rarely are able to work with a technician immediately. The queue waits are very long and when you get through there are no support engineers available and we need to wait for a call back for hours it seems.

Support is always helpful, but they can sometimes be difficult to understand which adds a level of complexity to troubleshooting an issue. They are very persistent at making sure you get your issue fixed though, which raises this rating substantially.

Back in 2016, when we evaluated the ManageEngine solution, we compared it to an existing Juniper JSA deployment, mapping specific PCI DSS requirements against both products. That was 10 years ago now; much may have changed, but at the time, the ManageEngine solution mapped well to the PCI DSS requirements, so we retired the Juniper JSA solution.

We no longer have to spend time or manpower digging through logs. The product presents the information you need (whatever that may be in your situation) on the dashboard, via à la carte reports, or automatically to your inbox. You save a lot of time not having to mine for data with this product. Everything is there in the morning for me to review, or on hand if I feel like looking before reports run.
  • ManageEngine ADAudit Plus has reduced the need for additional IT FTEs by allowing our lean staff to do their jobs well in the background.
  • It is not a very resource-intensive product, so you won't need a dedicated or high-performance server to run it. It runs in VMs or on bare-metal servers just fine.
  • The pricing is good. There are products that do more, but their cost can be exponentially higher, depending on the features.
