Mineral, formerly known as ThinkHR, and now from Mitratech, offers HR and compliance solutions that aim to take the guesswork out of HR and compliance, giving clients peace of mind. The solution combines data, technology, and human expertise to drive innovation and personalized guidance. With its integrated learning management system in the Mineral Platform, users can assign essential training content or engage employees with career development courses.
Having used both Mineral and Brightmine, overall I think they are comparable tools. Brightmine has stood out as being an easy to use platform. I also appreciate that when searching for information, on the Brightmine site, there are suggestions links/additional links presented …
Brightmine is really great for 50-state info, spreadsheets, and other more complex, detailed policies and procedure information. The level of information provided is more in-depth.
Brightmine is great for updating handbooks. We're a small company who does business in 13 different states, and sometimes compliance is difficult to keep up with. When legal changes are made in states regarding time off, work breaks, minimum wage, etc. Brightmine will send notices that updates have been made. This is particularly helpful for companies that don't have an HR compliance-specific position.
My company used the platform specifically to ensure employees had access to uniform compliance/HR training materials. We didn't use it much outside of that, except maybe to provide additional required training. It would be beneficial if an individual or company needed a solution like this. Individually, our HR team would also review training for ourselves when we had questions about something.
Have a 50 state chart that lists all final pay requirements for a deceased employee.
Policy requirements that are 100% mandatory for the handbook. This could be adjusted to make it crystal clear what is really needed and what an employer may want to add.
Chat support. I don't think this feature has ever worked on the site.
Without realising it we use Brightmine so often and it is so beneficial as our daily roles are onerous. By having a tool there that covers such a wide variety of products we can rest assured we know if we need something we can find it on there easily. With no hassle.
The website is so easy to use and navigate through. I check this website weekly on the states I am responsible for, and it is so well organized to quickly find those states. I also use this to check up on information with policies and laws I run into and all the information is quick and easy to find.
From a user's standpoint, the platform was really easy to navigate, both from the employer and employee standpoints. I had no issues uploading employee information so they had access on day one, and I often helped employees access the platform and make sure they were set to complete their training. It was not often that we encountered an error, and when we did, it was easy to resolve for the employees.
It is almost always available when I need it. I have only ran into 2 situations where I received an error message and could not get logged in but was told this was a widespread issue that would quickly be resolved.
Everything loads quickly and is exactly where I need it to be. I like how the sidebar breaks down different sections of policies for each state to help me find what I am looking for or gives suggestions or documents to review that may also be helpful
The initial support was brilliant with a colleague who showed us how to use the platform, as the platform is so easy to navigate we havent had further support but i know if i needed any i could contact brightmine to offer the support. It is so easy to use so havent needed to
The people on the call training us were very friendly and knowledgeable! They helped me learn of new tabs for finding templates to create new trainings to update departments on policies and procedures. It also has great excel sheets so I can see side by side differences between states regarding different laws and compensation changes.
I didnt implement but just wanted to say the person providing the training was brilliant and guided us through each page so we knew how to navigate, also allowed us to ask a lot of questions if we needed to which was helpful. So we could go away with confidence to use it
HR Inform's documents are written a little better but there is less choice, they are similar in pricing however you can get a discount is you are a CIPD member which is attractive. It would be good if Brightmine can partner with the HR Ninjas very large network and give discounts to members, this would definitely drive subscriptions up for Brightmine and increase their presence.
Safety Skills have more safety topics but Mineral safety videos are good too. In some ways, I prefer Mineral over Shrm due to the ease of finding the templates that I am looking for. It would be nice if they had an HR conference too because I never heard of Mineral until it was introduce to use by one of our vendors.
Brightmine reduces the time it would take me to research certain items on my own. As a consultant, this increases my capacity, allowing me to take on additional clients and increase my revenue.
Using Brightmine saves me from needing to hire someone to help me perform research or to help me stay up-to-date on changing laws. Although I pay for the service, it is at least 80% less than an employee would cost.
It has definitely been positive, but I'm not sure how I could measure the ROI. I feel it has given me more insight into certain situations, such as dealing with millennial employees, and has helped me to grow as a leader in my organization.
