BuzzCast

BuzzCast is great for large, complex online events - especially during the pandemic when it's been hard or impossible to gather folks in person.If you only need a smaller group of 5 or 10 people, BuzzCast is probably overkill. Once you have lots of people / multiple sessions, or want to capture and save presentations for later, you'll want to start looking at BuzzCast.

OneCause

OneCause is well suited to host and manage an online auction. Adding photos to the website and additional photos could definitely be easier. At present, you have to host the photos online elsewhere and insert parts of code into other parts of code to get them to load. This could be more user-friendly. As a small non-profit, I would appreciate more proactive assistance at the base price point. I have to do everything DIY so when I have questions it involves a lot of digging through articles. At times I am not clear who I can go to for help (ie who my account rep is versus the sales rep).

  • Provides a large number of reports on various aspects of the event, including payments, attendees, etc.
  • Manages all event details, including attendees, payments, table assignments, sponsorships, auction item donations, etc.

  • I would love to see a text editor incorporated into the package management area of the software. So text formatting like font size, bold, or italics could be easily added without coding
  • It would be helpful if there was the ability to add hyperlinks in the donor section of a lot rather than just the lot description
  • I would prefer that all photos I need to add to an auction lot be uploadable rather than having to provide a URL for the photos

As an IT professional, I picked it up very quickly, but when showing the tool to colleagues, some of the terminologies is a little confusing as I believe it's intended to be broad enough to cover everything but it's almost too broad to where there is some confusion. For example, they use the term "supporters" which encapsulates everything from attendees to companies to people who have donated an item(s) for the auction or raffle to volunteers, etc. They also refer to the attendees as "bidders" even if there is no auction at your event. Also, their reporting catalog is incredibly confusing - I wish there was an option just to create your own report depending on your needs.

As I stated before, their customer service team is incredible. They are quick to respond and help answer any questions. They also send videos to walk you through your issue, so you can see exactly how to fix it and can look back at any time.

BuzzCast platform has the most amount of features that our events require (public chat/private chat, breakouts, auto-scrolling agenda). The entire platform is built and designed so that it's intuitive for our viewers and they are shown exactly how to operate the platform in under a minute. The quality of the stream is superior. The BuzzCast team is great to work with and are true partners who are all solution-oriented.

Good value for the money and good customer support. Even when direct account manager was unable to respond quickly, her manger was also available and willing to help us as needed. We used GiveSmart for one year and moved to OneCause BidPal, as they were able to provide on-site support in 2021.
