The integration is nice, things go automatic, and background checks are thorough.The integration helps give us more time in our day because background checks are initiated as the employee completes their onboarding. It requires no work from us, unless an invitation expires or they never onboard. There are lots of details in the background checks, which helps us get clear answers

HireRight

Pre-employment screenings for DOT regulated drivers is still a challenge and doesn't take advantage of the online ordering options that HireRight can offer for other roles (though the DOT is equally to blame for this). HireRight really shines when we are screening individuals for roles not regulated by the DOT, or when we are using their batch upload option to process large numbers of requests at once (e.g. random drug screenings, Annual MVR pulls). In these areas, it has saved us a huge amount of time that would have otherwise been wasted on repetitive, administrative tasks.

  • We've never had an issue with integration, this seems to be working well. It's a strength because we can't afford time lost on IT issues.
  • It is nice that they have an online instant chat function, for when we need answers ASAP, so we can continue with the process and appease our customers
  • The background checks themselves are aesthetically pleasing, which makes it easier to review results.

  • Customer Service. They lack here. It takes too long to resolve issues, especially with your assigned account manager. I have to continue to ask for an update and sometimes, I do not get a response back.
  • Back Up Account Managers - The account manager you are assigned may not be available. We need to be provided a list of people we can contact in the event that our POC in unavailable.

There are various ways you are able to call HireRight. They do have busy times and so the live chat is helpful because you are able to leave the chat open until an agent is available (and do work than being tied to a phone).

We have used 2 or 3 other background check companies and I like HireRight because they are the easiest to get in touch with someone when any help is needed. The website is user friendly and you can easily check what is pending, what is completed, etc., across users. They are also much faster than the previous companies we worked with.

Return on Investment

  • Saves us from hiring dangerous employees who could cause safety issues on site, so lots of hiring costs. Turnover is expensive.
  • Saves time internally when we don't have to initiate background checks when someone is hired.
  • When a background check take a long time, it hurts us because we can't hire someone until their background check is completed. This hurts our production.

  • HireRight is a Pay as You Go platform, so there are no long-term contracts to worry about. We customized our template for the information we consistently need and fill in the demographics. I would say that the ROI is 100% - we have been able to vet out the less desirable candidates based on some of the information.
