Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is well suited for nonprofit industries but only if you have a superb implementation team. Setup of inter-entity dimensions, etc. can be challenging for an implementation team not accustomed to the formatting required. I would assume a small, one-person business entity would not be the best candidate for this program. Sage Intacct is very robust and it is reflected in their pricing. Several more appropriate accounting software programs would be better suited to a self-employed person with few to no assets and/or employees.

Sage Intacct

  • Intacct is very responsive - I have never had to wait longer than a few seconds for any sort of request on this software. This is helpful when I have a customer on the phone that I am helping. Intacct values my time and my customer's time.
  • It is very easy to automate the process of generating invoices - the main reason we use Intacct. Not once have I been stuck or confused on how to get a customer into a routine billing cycle.
  • The invoices that are generated from Intacct look clean and they are very customizable.

Sage Intacct

  • Bank reconciliation - I do not like the forced "matching" layout. I prefer the old layout where I can manually check off items and see real-time adjustments without needing to hit "match".
  • Bill changes - I want to be able to edit more fields for bills in an open period-paid or unpaid-without being forced to do a full reversal or making an additional reclassifying entry to correct a data entry mistake.
  • Vendor ACH information - I want to be able to send an [encrypted] email to a vendor to allow them to input their own bank information into the system that I do not have to see or handle in order to pay via ACH.

Whether it be their upper management or their customer support crew, they have always acted and treated me like they care. Probably because we make them a lot of money, but nonetheless they do a great job whenever any issue comes up. I even met them in person!

Support via the portal is good, if not in a time crunch. I like how they can find and fix the problem without input other than what is noted on the support request page. However, if assistance is needed immediately, it can be challenging to find assistance via phone call. Often users use a third-party implementation team and continue with their assistance for years. Having a one-on-one relationship with support personnel is vital to customer satisfaction.

It was great for generic training but we had the system modified by our third party implementer and a lot of that was not covered in various training's that we received or took online. Attended Advantage last year and that as super helpful in learning a lot of the intricacies of the system.

I would not use a thrid party administrator to implement your system, especially if you are going to be modifying the system at all. Use Intacct implementors as they will be able to better support you on any issues that come up after you go live.

Sage Intacct

We used MIP Fund Accounting for about six years until they were no longer able to keep up with the needs of the market. It ran off of Remote Desktop which was slow and clunky and ultimately made it impossible for a couple of our team members to log in. Their cloud version was too slow to develop and lacked much of the core functionality that we needed. Intacct blew MIP out of the water.
