Likelihood to Recommend Secure Data Transfer: When researchers need to securely transfer sensitive data, such as PHI and HIPAA data to collaborators or other researchers. Confidential Correspondence: For confidential correspondence, especially in scenarios where legal, financial, or sensitive information needs to be communicated securely, such as between research teams, institutions, or funding bodies.
Read full review RMail is great for sending emails with information that is sensitive but that the recipient is not going to put a lot of work into retrieving. I do psychological evaluations for criminal courts and I use it to send reports to courts and attorneys. I need to use something compatible with HIPAA privacy rules, which courts and attorneys are typically not as concerned about. If they had to use a password or go to an outside web address to retrieve the email, they wouldn't do it. It's also common for an attorney to say they didn't get an email, but I always know if they did or not, and I have clear documentation of it, which is important in legal cases.
Read full review Pros Platform is intuitive and very easy to use from both a receiver and sender of the email. The "open" and/or "read" notifications serve as great documentation that a client has successfully seen and obtained the information that was being provided. The ability to include a simple link within an email signature prevents clients from having to go through a cumbersome portal or process to send a document securely. RMail leverages TLS technology in most cases Recipients do have the option of creating an account, but generally they don't need to Outlook integration is very easy to set up Gmail integration within Chrome is pretty amazing Dan Gospe Chief Operating Officer, and HIPAA Privacy Officer
Read full review Cons The address book interface to add users could be made simpler The copy and paste feature could be improved When composing an email the system should automatically search address book to provide less typing of Contact names already existing as a send to the person Read full review Program plug-in crashes on occasion. Issues can arise if your computer's clock is not synced to RMail's time servers. Setup was initially tedious (but has gotten much better since 2019). Read full review I don't think RPost has any competition, at least none that I can use. I think that once registered email becomes widely accepted (someday soon?), it will be indispensable for anyone in business, and RPost is the leading vendor (maybe the only vendor).
Read full review Usability The DataMotion SecureMail's best feature according to me is simply that it performs as promised with an immediate reduction in spam which has led to spam-related queries to the IT department practically non-existent. DataMotion SecureMail is pretty robust and hands off which is great.
Read full review It is as simple as downloading a plug-in or installing a chrome extension, then you click a button to use it. The interface is straightforward.

Read full review Support Rating Responses always seem timely and the support seems to be pretty good. We haven't really had any major issues with the software yet, so I that's the reason I gave only an 8. If something more difficult were to pop up, I'd have a little more to say on the support for the product.
Read full review Support is easy to access via email or phone. They also reach out to you periodically with new features, but they aren't intrusive about it. I usually appreciate it when I get an email from RMail, which is not very often.

Read full review Alternatives Considered We can not afford Cisco products; in the end, everything we require is on the software side, not the hardware side. Also, we are trying to move away from these bulky appliance-type concepts of secure documentation and communication integrations. This federated easy, fast and multi-disciplinary API systems DataMotion has provided us is precisely what we need.
Read full review RMail is really useful when wanting to send important encrypted information, and have control of what happens on the other end. It also comes with a complete set of features that help in any other way you can imagine. I've been through other products, and nothing compares to it.
Read full review Scalability Ridiculous question. It’s scalable and that is why we would want to use it
Read full review Return on Investment DataMotion has had a positive return on investment due to the fact that we have to post less, avoid postal fees, and ensure security. DataMotion has decreased the amount of compliance required when sending out information; when posting documents, we would have previously had to have documents checked by compliance for security, but now we can issue these clients directly. Everyone in the company uses DataMotion; this has saved both time and money because of the decreased number of letters being drafted; it has created a more efficient workforce and boosted productivity. Read full review There's not much ROI, because we don't get it much cheaper than the list price. However, being able to offer this service strengthens our service offerings.
