Deputy is well suited to organizations where a person is allocated to a particular area. You can add or delete staff easily and you can add shift areas well too (just not easily delete them when not used anymore). It's great for staff to see their roster and changes to their roster on their phone at any time of day. Notifications are sent to email each time also to alert of changes to the roster. Timesheets come in and show the actual time they worked but can be edited if they forgot to sign in. All timesheets need to be approved which means they get checked too.

WorkInSync

I really love their contactless office entry/exit management system, including the AI-enabled mask detector. Seat booking, meeting room booking, and sharing my work preference (whether I am working from office or home) with my team every day has been amazing so far. The app also has integration facilities, when I book a seat or when I prefer working from home or office, it automatically gets reflected on my work calendars. They have done integrations with MS Teams and Slack, too. You will find the WorkInSync app on the MS Teams apps marketplace, too.

  • Accessibility - the app and webpage are easy to navigate and learn.
  • Training - I love how involved the team is and the opportunities that they offer to customers to learn more about Deputy. Even being a seasoned user, I appreciate the information and time spent to further my experience and knowledge with Deputy.
  • Scheduling - I have used a few scheduling softwares and Deputy excels by far in all scheduling categories. It is easy to learn, navigate and master. It also is so practical and extremely accessible in terms of having the app for our team members to use.
  • App - Thank you for creating an app that is seamless and trouble free. Many of the other scheduling softwares that I previously used did not have an app or it was overly complicated to use. I am so appreciative of it!

  • There are occasional discrepancies between the iOS and Android apps, such as being able to start unscheduled shifts is not possible on Android IF that person already has a shift scheduled further ahead in the day
  • We really wish it was possible to 'hide' certain staff members' salary levels. Can make it tricky to give managers full access when they can see their counterparts salary from another department

We couldn't function without Deputy. It just works for us. Rostering is simple and easy. Staff understand their obligations for their shifts, can clock in and out accurately and quickly on location. It integrates well with our accounting system for easy payroll.

Deputy is extremely useful for our scheduling, people management, and day to day communication. I think Deputy would be better if we could make settings more customizable per user, as opposed to per location. There are some users who I want to give access to specific things, but not to the whole team. And there are some users who I want to be a "supervisor" or "location manager" but at the same time there are things I wouldn't want to include them to have access to. If Deputy was more user focused on settings, I would give them a 10 rating.

Frontline chat support is terrible. They rarely provide anything helpful, and often I end up with conflicting information from different people. However, once you get to higher level support, they are super helpful really work hard to find solutions and resolve any bugs or other issues.

The implementation took less than an hour and was very easy. I simply entered in our business information, our employee information, and emailed the employees their log-in invitations. Once they set up their accounts everything was ready to go. When I had a question about the integration with OnPay, I had a callback from a customer service rep within 5 minutes and we got that set up as well.

We use iAuditor in conjunction with Deputy for different tools. It would be good to be able to combine & do everything from Deputy but we have found iAuditor more user friendly for items such as recording weekly toolbox meetings, assigning tasks, auditing machines using custom forms & check boxes (which we can create and report on). We have also looked at other electronic timesheet apps prior to using Deputy but have generally had trouble getting support and answers to queries about the programs.

  • We've saved time and hours on payroll every week for over a year. We've also saved time and aggravation in our workforce when it comes to quickly clocking in and out. When you need to get 60 people through 2 kiosks in the same 5 minute window, it's critical that the interface is fast, easy, and responsive. Deputy does a great job of that.
  • There was however a fairly significant uptake time with the company. It took about 6 months for everyone to get comfortable and make enough mistakes to learn how they wanted to do things. I've seen a quicker turn around with other programs, but this felt about typical.
  • It took some work to learn the API, but the dividends on our middleware program have been tremendous when it comes to dealing with our integrated HR software. Deputy did a lot on their end of things in the API to make it accessible and easy to use. Learning their API was a time investment, but a worthwhile one for what we got out of it.
