Chose Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs)
Indeed Sponsored Jobs has a better reach for the hourly positions that we are trying to fill, while the other platforms speak to a different clientele. There are some that I will not use again just because their platforms are too cumbersome to use, and they have not provided …
Chose Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs)
Indeed is my primary recruiting tool. I will always consider using other resources, but the default is Indeed.
Chose Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs)
As I mentioned earlier, everyone knows what Indeed is so that's a huge plus. I don't tend to get the number of candidates coming in with either of the others I've used in the past. Almost a waste of money if I'm being honest, I'd rather post 3 or 4 similar positions on Indeed …
Chose Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs)
Indeed Sponsored Jobs gets the lion's share of our recruiting dollars simply because it is more effective than our competitors. It reaches more people faster, for less money.

Likelihood to Recommend
Glassdoor
I would definitely recommend Glassdoor.com to colleagues who are looking to get insights into the inner workings of an organization by the people who know it best - its employees. The variation of reviews of employees at all levels within an organization. The benefit to this is that it delivers a well-rounded perspective that provides deeper understanding of a company and the ways that they are perceived externally and how they operate in actual terms of acting as a reliable establishment to work for or work with.

Indeed
Using indeed for ongoing job needs is great as the job ad will be there for an extended period of time. The use of Indeed for a quick need-to-hire tomorrow situation has been tough. I have found that it may take a few days to gather good applications.

Pros
Glassdoor
  • Glassdoor is great at providing candidates with information about our company they wouldn't find elsewhere.
  • Glassdoor's website is organized well and has an easy-to-use interface both for job seekers and posters.
  • Glassdoor has excellent crowdsourcing functionality when it comes to company ratings and salary information.

  • Immediate response, that's what I need. I post the job, there is no waiting one day or two hours to respond to the candidates.
  • Gives me better visibility, better ability to choose different candidates, I've tried sponsored jobs with deal-breakers and non-deal-breakers. Sometimes is best not to have a deal-breaker for certain jobs because I might pass on a candidate I wouldn't have thought to maybe take a look at.
  • I've also used the instant match, I'm starting to get better at qualifying those candidates and I had a few applicants from that.

Cons
Glassdoor
  • Glassdoor is an expensive product and price needs to be lower for employers.
  • They have to find a way to stop companies from rigging their ratings by asking their employees to post positive reviews.
  • Also, somehow they need to figure out if the negative review is an attempt to show their frustration by an employee rather than the true picture of the organization.

Indeed
  • The biggest area for improvement that I see is the automatic job collapsing for posts that are coming from the same company, same title but different locations. A lot of our locations are hiring hourly team members and are within 10-15 miles of each other. This issue significantly reduces the number of applicants that we see and makes our lives as recruiters more difficult when we need to try and manage 75 locations across both concepts that are potentially hiring for 2-3 positions at a time.

I see no reason at this time to change how we would continue to work with Glassdoor.com as a go-to resource for our hiring needs. As we look to hire in the future we will certainly return to Glassdoor.com as well as recommend Glassdoor.com to colleagues and anyone we know who is looking for a platform that they can look to for reliable employee resourcing.

I use Indeed Sponsored Jobs pretty much on a daily basis. As a recruiter this would be the first thing, I renew to help me succeed in my role as a staff recruiter.

Usability
Glassdoor
It's improved but I still find it it a bit complex and challenging to navigate. There's a lot I can't see as an unpaid employer account but it generally takes me some time to get to what I can see whether that's trying to research my own company's feedback scores from past or current employees, the feedback other companies are receiving, or job postings

They continue to improve their platform. Although sometimes adding more functions can decrease usability, Indeed is very good at adding definitions and information in a very user-friendly way. You are truly able to customize your service and job ads in a way that benefits you and your company. You also have complete control over your ad and your budget

Support Rating
Glassdoor
Support is generally excellent, but there can be a fair amount of bureaucracy at times for requests. The support people are very knowledgeable of the platform, but sales seem to regurgitate the same info when trying to negotiate or upsell a client. Technical issues are rare and usually solved quickly.

Our Indeed support team far exceeds the support I've received from any other recruitment platform. We have a dedicated account executive AND a client support specialist, both of whom go out of their way to assist with everything from making our job ads more effective to make the billing process more transparent. They are a rock star team that truly takes the stress out of recruiting!

Alternatives Considered
Glassdoor
Glassdoor.com appears to operate a bit differently compared to some of the other recruiting platforms I regularly use. From my experience, it doesn’t seem to have the same level of engagement or reach among job seekers. Although it does generate a high volume of applicants, I’ve noticed that many of those applications tend to be from the same individuals I’ve seen through other platforms or previous postings. As a result, it sometimes feels like I’m not getting access to a broader or new pool of talent through Glassdoor.com alone.

Handshake is mainly for the college-age group. We have listed some of our jobs on here before, but never had a good turnout of applicants. We tried ZipRecruiter, but it was easier to manage all of our jobs if they were listed on one site. We would also sometimes have people apply on both our ZipRecruiter listing and our Indeed listing.

Return on Investment
Glassdoor
  • It has been helpful to see the responses and if they are something to address.
  • People are more likely to post here vs give the feedback to us directly, so often things will be brought to us we didnt know about.

Indeed
  • Applicant quality varies depending on the position, sometimes we get really good ones and bad ones so it's positive and negative at times.
  • Positive impact with being cost effective. I don't feel we pay too much for what we need, but it's not "cheap" by any means either.
