GoCardless vs. Xoom, a PayPal Service (personal use only)

We believe GoCardless is the best-in-class solution for global companies who wish to streamline payment processing in many countries, especially when integrating within a company website or supported complementary software. It also works very well for recurring payment situations as it can be very streamlined for recurring & auto-payments. This is NOT a tool for credit card processing, so understand that and consider something like Stripe if credit card integration is your goal. The fees for GoCardless may be highly dependent on the anticipated processing volume and size of your business, so do know that very tiny companies may find the fee structure to be higher. For a US-only business, I'm not sure if GoCardless really would make the most sense outside of specifically for integrating within the software for click-thru payment processing. Where GoCardless shines is when your business operates in many countries and is looking for a seamless solution for your customers that also avoids them paying banking fees.

Xoom is best suited to send and receive money between two people who live in different countries, not only that we can also send money to our friends, colleagues, family members directly in their bank accounts. They have a great currency exchange functionality that directly converts our received money into our local currency, and deposits it into our bank account within a few minutes. The only drawback is that not many people know about it, it needs good marketing so that more people can use this service, and from my experience, I can say it is very secure and a good competitor of Payoneer.

• Very fast transfer and very secure as being of PayPal.
• Receiver don't need to download the app or use Xoom.
• It supports bank and debit card to transfer funds and same with the receiver.

• Some destinations take longer to get delivered to.
• Higher amounts of money are harder to transfer.
• High fees when trying to add funds to new card.

I don't see any other service that is so versatile and which offers such a breadth of services.

We have had no issues with GoCardless since it was implemented in our new software. The customers are able to sign up with ease. The reporting on the site is very helpful and the site is easy to navigate

It's one of the most easy to use and intuitive platforms. The app is very powerful as well.

There is no phone support, email only, and the support is slow coming. The support staff often don't read your support query properly, so you waste time having to re-explain yourself. That is the only downside of this product.

The implementation was largely successful. Since this was a large shift from normal practices, we faced a few teething problems, but largely I'd say it went well.

It stacks up well against Stripe but I think they serve different purposes. Stripe is better when it comes to integrations, GoCardless is great for recurring payments, particularly for service-based businesses.

We agreed to select Xoom as the main payment method since it had more flexible options. It gives the user a full guarantee of transacting safely and when there is a conflict the customer support team acts quickly. The charges for sending and receiving money are relatively low as compared to other platforms. The mobile application has biometric login features making it difficult for unauthorized users to access confidential information.

• We have had an uptick in payment processing times.
• We receive payments from customers on time with no lag between invoice and payment dates.
• Overall Xoom has literally added to our bottom line by allowing more than a physical check payment option.
