Hire, by Google, was a recruiting app for G suite customers. The product includes functionality for applicant tracking, candidate relationship management, and candidate sourcing. Google sunsetted the product in late 2020.

I picked Google Hire after spending about 3 months on Bullhorn. I found Bullhorn to be terrible. It's WAY more customizable and theoretically powerful, but it's also a pain to set up and maintain. Even just getting your job page set up on your own site required tech support. …
ICIMS offered greater reporting abilities and updated workflows. In addition, the ease of sharing information with job boards made us decide to select ICIMS.
ICIMS Hire stands out as the right choice for our needs. I used to prefer Greenhouse's focus on structured interview science and feedback abilities but I selected ICIMS Hire because its unmatched configurability and robust automation allow us to manage massive, high-volume …
iCIMS Talent Cloud is definitely more user friendly than most other platforms we have vetted or used. It is also more presentable and has more capabilities than most others. We appreciate the integration capabilities of linking our career portals within our own websites and …
I'd say iCIMS is a better tool than what functionality I've been exposed to in SuccessFactors and Paradox. It's less convoluted than Paradox, but maybe lacks some of the automation. Compared to iSolved, it's on par. I'd say our company is fully invested in all aspects of …
iCIMS Talent Cloud is well-thought out with opportunities to manage candidates in process for larger organizations. It also partners well with job boards for ease in job posting. ADP WFN decreased our # of candidates unnecessarily because of the required login. BerniePortal …
The difference between iCIMS Talent Cloud and Salesforce is night and day. We were stuck in the stone age of applicant tracking and metrics. iCIMS has given us the freedom to do with our data as we see useful for us. We are also able to integrate to current HCM/HRIS very easily …
iCIMS and Munis actually are used together for our company in order to communicate together for better information. There are things that each does better than the other, but the platforms are geared in slightly different ways so those differences are expected. Using them …
I believe compared to other software iCIMS is very easy to use. It is not complicated, user friendly, and system maintenance has never been an issue. The support desk is always available for assistance and training manual is very beneficial when using for new on site staff. …
Oracle E-Business Suite Technical/Functional Analyst
Chose ICIMS Hire
Fully available automation, lesser bad data quality, more information is gathered at the time of applicant profile creation without having the need to ask for any follow ups or additional notifications. Integrates better with Oracle, Workday and SAP than other similar systems. …
iCIMS Talent Cloud provided a better fit into an organization like ours and fewer implementation efforts. Also back in the day, iCIMS Talent Cloud had most of the features we were looking for out of the box. Additionally, it offered better integration possibilities with our …
We previously used monster/HR Smart as our talent solution. They did not enable us to brand different divisions within the same platform, so we had to purchase separate ATS systems for each division. This was less than ideal and prompted us to look for another provider. …
We sought out other options 18 months ago because we were dissatisfied with the limitations of iCIMS. We opted for Phenom and have been pretty happy. It is definitely a significant upgrade to iCIMS alone.
As it was 6 years ago I don't remember all of the vendors we looked at, but iCIMS Talent Cloud stood out related to ease of use, reporting, and the Onboarding product.
Lever is more user friendly, more visual, and less reporting issues. iCIMS Talent Cloud is more configurable and able to grow more candidates in a faster fashion. Lever has better support than iCIMS, which is an overall win for anyone using it. Lever is also growing their …
Overall, iCIMS offered a greater variety of features, integration options, and configurability than the competition, and offered greater value and cost savings.
Google Hire is very good at doing the basics well. I believe for most internal HR departments at small companies, this is all you need. It also works well for small to medium-sized staffing companies that just want something reliable and easy to use. What Google Hire doesn't do very well is be flexible. They don't have custom options, they don't have a ton of settings, and their development cycle is slow. As a result, it's pretty much what you see is what you get.
When we partnered with ICIMS in 2018, it met our needs. 8 years later, I think ICIMS can offer more. AI needs to be incorporated into its system to better service its customers. The other recommendation is that they should offer training and communicate more often with their clients. Their dashboard should also be improved to make it easier on the eyes.
Google does search well so when I search through our database for candidates, I'm confident that I'm pulling up all the right people from what we have.
They have a modern and nice user interface - this is one of the biggest reasons to use it over other systems, as most ATS' are pretty ancient looking and not very pleasant to use.
Their support is very good at answering and addressing questions.
Their pricing is incredible. I'm sure at some point it will change, but for small companies paying 100+ per user for other ATS' - it's incredible to pay 100/month for the whole company.
The opt-out message after the 1st text helps weed out the people who are not interested.
Having the ability to have templates/answers to frequent questions saved and ready to use makes it easier/faster to talk to multiple people.
Being able to schedule text campaigns is amazing. Every Saturday I set up my campaigns for the next week. This gives me more time to focus on other things.
Despite many many months of requests, Google still hasn't implemented ANY custom fields. This makes it tough for an external recruiting firm to track what they want (most importantly: desired salary).
The job board integration is not great for external recruiters, mostly at the fault of Indeed. Indeed flagged us as a recruiting firm and so none of our jobs actually go live. While I know this is an Indeed problem (we had the same problem when using Bullhorn), Breezy ATS never has that problem for us so I don't know what they're doing differently.
Their development cycles are quite frankly very slow. I've requested some features, and while support is great about telling me it's coming or in the pipeline, I honestly don't really see a difference in the product since we started using it. It's still great to use, and we still love the software, but there haven't been too many visible improvements that make any difference to our work.
Being Google, it can sometimes be frustrating that one arm doesn't talk to the other. For example, they announced a Gmail for Works App/Extension integration, but for some reason when they launched it, admins of a domain couldn't install it. Google Hire pointed to the Google for Works team, and it took literally months to fix. Not the end of the world, but just very silly considering they're the same company.
We would highly likely renew iCIMS Hire because it consistently delivers strong value across our recruiting process. It streamlines workflows, improves collaboration between teams, and provides reliable reporting and insights. The system is scalable, user-friendly, and continues to evolve with new features, making it a dependable long-term solution for our hiring needs.
We just love iCIMS. Our hiring managers love iCIMS. I give it a 9 because some hiring managers do not have to use it as regularly and need reminders on what to do. It really improved our experience with our ATS overall and I wouldn't want to work in any other system in my job.
We never experience outages that impact our usage. I also can't remember any recent time where there has been an error within the system that has prevented us from using the application as needed on a regular basis. If there are ever any issues, iCIMS has a customer service department that is very easy to reach.
We can think of no dissatisfaction with our daily use of iCims, involving its response time to commands or incompatibility with any other software we presently use.
Before pandemic and iCIMS Talent Cloud acquisitions I would give 10 without a doubt. Unfortunately, I see a strong decrease in the support model, which seems to be mainly connected with the fact that acquired companies/tools/features need to be integrated with the platform, and knowledge of newly provided services and tools were not yet incorporated fully into the support.
I would say I believe iCims online training is very good. It's informative, visually appealing, and simple in explaining all the different aspects of iCims. I also really like the new candidate onboarding, and all the other training curricula you have up to be able to inform or send out to the candidate. I like you can attach a URL link for videos as well so you can really customize the training. I feel that overall, I would like to see more. Perhaps, more robust options with the training, if that's something iCims is expanding on in the future.
I picked Google Hire after spending about 3 months on Bullhorn. I found Bullhorn to be terrible. It's WAY more customizable and theoretically powerful, but it's also a pain to set up and maintain. Even just getting your job page set up on your own site required tech support. Getting it eventually to what you want could be a great benefit, but Google Hire does great right out of the box and is a lot cheaper. Breezy HR is a great system. It's a bit more expensive than Google Hire for multiple job postings, but their system is equally easy to use and straight forward. However, we are all in on Google Products, so it was just a no brainer to go with Hire for a better price and most likely a better search function.
ICIMS Hire stands out as the right choice for our needs. I used to prefer Greenhouse's focus on structured interview science and feedback abilities but I selected ICIMS Hire because its unmatched configurability and robust automation allow us to manage massive, high-volume hiring needs. As a hiring manager, I put a lot of effort and thought into every screening and interview as I always want to hire the best. We need a hiring tool that allows me to focus on my interviewing and goals, and less on the admin piece. Workday is a system I have used in the past and am very lucky to not have to touch it again, so ICIMS Hire seems to be the best option at the moment. Can't wait for its AI functionalities!
iCims is currently pretty good and the best TAS for us at our stage of growth - but further improvement and enhancements will only help make it even better.
Google Hire makes, unfortunately, a very little impact on our ROI, but I think in the ATS world that's a good thing. It simply acts as a record that we can put everything in and easily reference, and the fact that it works overall makes it a positive software product in the long run.
While the search works great, I don't know that I've ever specifically found a candidate and placed them due to it. That could be a result of our job reqs though.
The biggest most obvious impact is really just the price. We needed a tool that does what Google Hire does, reliably. Most other companies charge at least 150 or so for 2 people, whereas Google Hire is 100/month for many users. It gives us flexibility for the future and helps minimize what could be a big expense. That definitely helps our bottom line.
