iCIMS

iCIMS is worth the investment for a large corporation. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for smaller companies. It does well if you expect a high applicant flow for every role. It may not be worth the money if you only hire one or two people per year. Definitely consider the ROI when you consider this product.

Pros

  • The system is intuitive from an ATS standpoint. It is easy to review candidates in a job.
  • Customer service is available via phone or online ticketing system. It is rare that a customer representative who answers the phone can't handle the issue during the call.
  • The software streamlines our offer letter and approval process.

Cons

  • I am not happy that iCIMS recently changed their job-posting provider. They switched from TalentBrew to JobTarget. It's not as smooth, there are more clicks and steps, and I have a feeling that I'm going to start being charged for this which will make me very unhappy. I miss the ease of TalentBrew.
  • Even though their customer service is fast and great and they still do anything that I ask them to, I have noticed that over the past several months their response time has gotten a little slower. It used to be that they'd get back to me the same day and generally have my customization or problem solved in the same day. Now, it takes a few days. I've had one as long as a week. So if you are really reading this iCIMS - please know that your customer service, ability to do whatever the customer asks and respond fast sets you WAY apart from the rest. Please don't change....tighten it back up. It's still excellent and better than anyone else in the market, but I'd hate to see that slip to average.

We renewed after our initial 2 year contract. The solution is working well and support has been good. It is nice that the vendor does product updates each year to include new features. Some of these are based on customer suggestions.

We never experience outages that impact our usage. I also can't remember any recent time where there has been an error within the system that has prevented us from using the application as needed on a regular basis. If there are ever any issues, iCIMS has a customer service department that is very easy to reach.

Alternatives Considered

I have used many ATS systems over my career, including Halogen, Taleo, Sumtotal, and Kenexa 2XR.iCIMS stacks up against all of the above and is above average.iCIMS is not a full blown Taleo product but is getting closer to that full blown product with each new release.Nothing but Halogen can compare to the price of iCIMS. But I think iCIMS gives you more bang for the buck.

Return on Investment

  • We really didn't have a viable ATS before. Has allowed company to grow five fold in two years, with national scope.
  • Because of the system integrity, we have been able to accommodate clients with very high security needs (US Treasury, Department of Defense).
  • We have been able to be highly responsive to quick hire needs of several customers nationwide, without sacrificing quality of documentation or HR compliance.
