Jetbrains Space vs. Microsoft Teams

Jetbrains Space is great for teams. Managers can set up projects, assign team members and permissions, kick off a ticketing board for user requests. Then team leads can set up the repos within the project. As a team tool Jetbrains Space has everything a team needs to manage a project, and a separate of concerns with the users and permissions. Jetbrains Space is not so great for individuals. As an individual I've found it difficult to get to grips with some areas of Jetbrains Space and burned far too much time getting things set up. While this is not strictly on JetBrains, it would be nice if they could consider this and build out some blueprints for using the system.

It is pretty good for a chat platform, but if it's marketed for work or corporate jobs, it's missing some features. There's no way to make breakout rooms, which has been a feature on other platforms for years. On the other hand, general chat and group chats are pretty helpful as well.

Microsoft Teams is included with our Office 365 subscription and we have no intention of migrating off of Office 365 and Microsoft products. Since Microsoft Teams is included for free with our Office 365 subscription, and since we enjoy all the features, benefits, and functionality, there is no question that our team will continue to use the product

It has some rough edges, but overall the UI is extremely good.

I find that the chat function itself is quite clean, but once you incorporate the rest of the UI it becomes quite clunky. It feels as though there's too many features in one place, and that leads to it becoming convoluted and a little bit tedious to use. Due to that notifications can get missed which can lead to some tricky situations when working. I do find that it is easy to pick up though and help is readily available with a good support centre.

Sometimes about once a week I get a message that says "Sorry, there seems to be something wrong". But it goes away in a few minutes.

The overall support provided by Microsoft for Microsoft Teams has been quite good but there is still some room for improvements. Microsoft needs to proactively work on fixing the open bugs in order to provide a seamless experience to the users. But over the service and experience provided by the Microsoft team have been quite satisfactory.

With the other software I've tried, they solve many issues, Jetbrains Space solves them all by being a complete all-round solution for every level, from management, to support, to the developers. The other tools have some of these things, but I never felt comfortable using the whole system as a complete source of project tools, often ending up using tools from multiple vendors.

The advantage of using Microsoft Teams over Zoom is that Teams seamlessly works with Outlook Calendar, Outlook Email, Lists, Forms, etc. If I create a Zoom meeting, I will have to do twice as much work. Working at a Microsoft 365 organization, it is more convenient to use a product that runs on the same back end. I need not copy-paste, or miss a letter or number, and run into errors.

Honestly, this tool is worth every penny. Yes, it's not free and you pay for the quality of services and the license. But the ROI and the benefits are all there. Also, the renewal, negotiation, and contract terms are all very well explained by our Microsoft account manager, and she's a charm.

It does not appear to have a limit to how many teams and employees we can have using it

I used Skype for Business to take calls, hold conferences, and provide remote assistance to users. Microsoft Teams, on the other hand, is superior to Skype for Business in my opinion. My job entails a lot of screen sharing.

• We host our weekly sales training on the platform with an average of ~100 people in attendance each week
• I use the group chat and "pin chat" functionality to manage speakers and subject matter experts in preparation for the weekly trainings that take place each week.
