Engaging Learning with AI Features Needs Better Document Integration

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using Absorb LMS for almost two years to train staff and manage compliance courses. Before Absorb, we were using documents in SharePoint for download & signature for certifying that the information was administered. The Absorb LMS efficiently saves time with detailed course information and keeps learners engaged with AI voice features.

Pros

  • AI voice generation
  • Absorb Create
  • Assigning courses at different levels

Cons

  • Some of the changes in layouts and fonts when PowerPoint documents are uploaded to Absorb LMS
  • How to , name, run, and export reports could be a bit more simple

Likelihood to Recommend

I appreciate the AI voice features in Absorb LMS as they play a crucial role in keeping learners engaged, especially when there is a significant amount of detail involved in the courses. It's less appropriate for classified learning as many documents cannot be held on outside servers. Those courses are administered in a secure site.

Great Experience - Wonderful Guest Service

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am using Absorb LMS for my independent HR Business to create trainings for small to medium sized businesses. I will be selling my courses to leaders in these buildings so that they can have detailed trainings for their teams. I like that Absorb LMS is user friendly and has a lot of tracking mechanisms in place for both me and the company owner/leader. I really enjoyed working with my implementation Manager [...]. She was amazing and made the process easy and worry free. There is a lot to learn but she was very detailed in her recaps and problem solving. I now feel I can operate the system fairly seamlessly and it is also very customizable which I really appreciated.

Pros

  • Implementation Support
  • Training within the system
  • Making training fun and intuitive

Cons

  • When logging into the training, necessary to minimize

Likelihood to Recommend

I appreciate the fact that the system is fairly intuitive and they make course creation very simple. It is easy to edit and it has a ton of functions. You can include pictures, videos, quizzes, certifications, and so much more. It is not a cheap system so it is likely not going to be a purchase for a smaller organization but if trying to reach larger audiences it is likely a perfect fit. Especially if you want something that is more customizable.

Absorb is great

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to deliver training to external and internal parties. It solves business problems like executing compliance training to meet SOC2 and other requirements, deploying training to consultants at scale, and providing training for external market actors. We currently provide training for around 550 individual users, although that will likely grow.

Pros

  • Customized completion reporting
  • Custom LMS templates
  • User impersonation

Cons

  • Flexibility in updating the code of templates
  • Billboard photo logic rules/department availability
  • User interface for editing courses page - very confusing for someone without much experience

Likelihood to Recommend

Absorb is particularly well suited to making detailed adjustments to a particular course, like enrollment/nudge email cadence, content, course image, and other settings. It is less appropriate if you are trying to do something very customized, like create a template for a client that goes beyond the settings available in the Absorb template settings.

Great Experience Implementing Absorb LMS

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Absorb LMS is our business to business eLearning solution for external sales of eLearning modules, as well as management of learners piloting training through grants and projects. Pre-existing SCORM content is managed as courses and curriculums and made available for purchase through the fully branded, self-service checkout. The platform is extremely customisable, and very accessible - which was a key factor in determine which platform we would provide our content through.

Pros

  • Thorough training and support throughout the build.
  • User friendly and intuitive for both admins and learners.
  • Customisable look and feel - right down to language used within the site structure.

Cons

  • Greater flexibility with Zoom set up for instructor lead courses
  • Alt text added to all image uploads

Likelihood to Recommend

My (internal) project build team consisted of three people - one with experience setting up an LMS previously, and two with no experience. I have experienced 'out of the box' builds before and they are rarely intuitive and/or easy to navigate and set up. This was not the case with Absorb LMS. The eLearning modules and face-to-face support provided was thorough and there was a lack of unneccessary complexity to setting up the platform. My novices now know there way around every inch of the platform and love using it.

This was not our first LMS, but it may well be our last. The functionality (from reporting for admins to ease of access for learners) far exceeds our previous experiences and we have a product that looks great, works seemlessly and that we are very proud of.

Absorb Review

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use our LMS mainly for internal compliance. We work seasonally and our off-season work force is about 10% of in-season so we need to track all of their training.

Pros

  • Usable user interface
  • When a person is answering questions, they are usually very responsive (props to Luke L.!)

Cons

  • Admin dashboard is clunky - looking forward to updates and new widgets
  • Reports in both Absorb and Analyze default to including inactive courses and users (not in Absorb). This is SO ANNOYING.

Likelihood to Recommend

We still have a number of areas that do not have cell/wi-fi service. If the app were more developed, it would be VERY handy to have access to the ability to download courses, complete them, then upload them later.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Absorb LMS as a platform for our Executive Education programs. We use Absorb LMS as a professional learning platform as it is what our participants are used to when they undertake professional courses. Absorb LMS not only includes the content to be covered in the training programs but also the activities, such as quizzes, videos etc.

Pros

  • Links to readings and videos
  • AI voiceover
  • Graphics

Cons

  • A specific example is the lack of functionality with discussion boards. Instead I am using links to padlet walls as these look and work much better.
  • I find the quiz/question functions a bit clunky and prefer to use links to Kahoots! instead.
  • I find it difficult to engage with the answers to questions stored in Absorb LMS as we have 78 participants and it is tricky to navigate the excel spreadsheets.

Likelihood to Recommend

The look, feel and movement through a training course is smooth and enjoyable for a participant.

The limitations with quizzes and discussion boards not being as good as other platforms is noticeable. But, there is scope to integrate with other platforms such as padlet wall or Kahoot! so this works well as a solution.

Excellent product support and user experience

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The previous LMS platforms we used were clunky, difficult to navigate, and we had to purchase content to put in the LMS (no authoring tool). Absorb LMS, while pricier than our previous options, contains so much added value. We love Absorb Create and have use it to author over 75 courses since our implementation 6 months ago! It has cut down the time to create learning resources significantly, while still maintaining a high quality. We needed to be able to track learning (which wasn't really possible in our previous LMS's) so the admin experience solved pretty much every problem we had in that regard - we love the ease of use of the reporting feature. I can't say enough good thinks about Absorb LMS and how it's benefited our organization.

Pros

  • Customizing the user interface was fairly simple and our learners WANT to use the platform because it looks so nice.
  • Admins have so many tools at their fingertips to pull reports, create new users, author new courses, and more!
  • Absorb LMS has been the solution to so many problems we had experienced in our previous LMS: ease of use, course library, course authoring, tracking, reporting, etc.

Cons

  • Building out competencies is a long and arduous process we have not tackled because of what's needed to be done beforehand.
  • Career pathing should be way easier to build out.
  • Some reports are hard to find.

Likelihood to Recommend

Absorb LMS answered a lot of questions we were facing as an organization in how we train and develop our employees. Absorb LMS is not only a fantastic repository for learning resources, the built in tools make creating new resources and experiences for our teammates so much easier and more streamlined. We use the Absorb Create authoring tool and have had great luck in course creation using many methods (AI, templates, etc.). We implemented the LMS in 4 weeks due to the guidance and willingness of our Implementation manager to move along at a quicker pace. We also love the Absorb library of content that helps fill in some of the soft skills and safety gaps without us having to create internal resources.

Absorb LMS in Action

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My role for Absorb LMS in our organisation is system admin - to manage and oversee the backend of the platform. One of the challenges we face is the report generation for all course evaluations at once. Currently, we have to access each course individually to download the reports, which is time-consuming. The scope of my use case includes generating custom reports, publishing courses to specific user groups, managing user account creation, etc. I handle the backend tasks to ensure the Absorb LMS is running smoothly for the organisation.

Pros

  • To create group and assign courses for a specific group (ie, department, role)
  • Automated message notifications (i.e., enrollment, completion, failure)
  • Integration with our internal system (i.e., Single Sign-On)

Cons

  • A master button for course evaluation reports so it saves time when evaluating learner feedback across many courses.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited:

Onboarding new hires across the region (by

'Department"). For example:, we can easily assign the particular course

based on department and role. Their Customer Support is quite efficient and responsive! Thank you. Less appropriate:

Currently, I think Absorb LMS does not allow notifications like

enrollment or failure messages to be targeted at specific user groups WITHIN a

course. Once these message notifications are enabled, it will

affect all groups assigned to the course, not just the target groups.
