We use ActivTrak for our remote employees. Not to micromanage but to make sure they are productive and not taking advantage of not being in an office. We had issues in the past with remote employees being paid an hourly wage and not working but rather shopping, watching porn or movies or working a side job while being paid by our company. Since we have used ActivTrak we can set alerts, alarms and we are made aware of these types of issues or non production.

We work from home and from different states, so we needed a tool that allows us to keep track of everything, check productivity, and the schedule.
We started to work with ActivTrak, and we obtained these and more; I am able to review productivity per day, hours, and weeks, and review productive and unproductive websites. Also, I can make sure everyone is getting on time.
This helps us to realize all the good work that the team does, so we can recognize the good things too!

Pros

I can track the hours per week that each person works, this way we can pay the exact time.
It takes some screenshots every 5 minutes I think, that way you can review what is the team doing.
It allows me to classify the websites as productive and unproductive, and it shows you each one by a different color, so when you review the day you can know by colors if it was a productive day.

Cons

I think the team can just move the mouse every 5 minutes, and it will show you the team member's work as productive.
Sometimes it has some bugs, it shows someone off and then 1 hour later it shows you that the same person was on.

Return on Investment

Fair Payments since we can trak the real hours that the team works.
Avoid micromanagement since we can review the data as a team and not as individuals.
Recognize the team for their good development.

ActivTrak is a great tool to manage teams. We are a remote company , everyone works remote so I have to be able to monitor my SDRs screen time and track activity. It shows me exactly how much time is being used on which activities and apps and sites. Very good tool for reporting and improving performance and having visibility of what your team gets up to during working hours
