Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Adobe Target for AEM personalization at a small scale, but primarily use it to A/B test experiences to decide the best path forward.

Pros

  • Personlaization
  • User a/b testing

Cons

  • While it does serve up unified experiences for A/B testing. It also doesn't understand intent. Would the user navigate the same way no matter the experience. Including AI to help understand not only selection and experience but help analyze data for time spent on tasks.

Likelihood to Recommend

For and UX designer this is a must to iterate designs and understand what users are more drawn to visually. Personalization is great but should be used with caution. Just because you can add their name you can get too personal and raise privacy concerns

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We do A/B tests through it. Website A/B tests, and mobile app A/B tests. So experimentation.

Pros

  • So the distribution of all the experiments is really good. And also the way it facilitates all the data so that you can analyze it better in Adobe Analytics. It's really good.

Cons

  • So all of the part where it uses AI, it becomes more of a black box, so it loses the explainability of why stuff is working and that makes it harder to iterate on other tests, other experiments. If you don't know why it works, then how are you going to do it better next time?

Likelihood to Recommend

So A/B testing for sure. Less well suited, I would imagine experimentation, but on an offline angle to it that it wouldn't necessarily work that well. But online experiments for sure it does work.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My team uses Adobe Target for tagging and experimentation for secure login and the mobile app. We have many use cases across that are used to track and test user experiences for our product teams. We provide tagging strategy for application developers to track components within pages. We complete ~20+ tagging and experiments per month.

Pros

  • A/B testing
  • Click tracking and component tagging
  • Integration with other Adobe tools

Cons

  • Manage timeouts
  • Latency issues
  • Exeperiments across SDK & nonweb SDK pages

Likelihood to Recommend

Target is great for basic experimentation using A/B testing. Most of our stakeholders use Target for enhancements to CX. The data capture allows for insights into experimentation.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to drive CRO discipline and do AB testings. Its very difficult to implement in different environments, we couldn't have the right support, and we also have to pay for that too (when we're paying for the tool). Also its not very friendly with other analitycs tools.

Pros

  • Personalization
  • Experiments view

Cons

  • Experiment results view (calculator)
  • Design features (to edit when you're not a dev)
  • Implementation with another analitycs tools (not with AA, for ex: GA4)
  • Implementation in environments (especially on app)

Likelihood to Recommend

In this special case, we migrated to Target when Google Optimize deprecated. It was a big change, tho Optimize was "more friendly to use" in terms of ux and implementation.

We use AT to generate experiences to our users or clients, we create different s experiments for CRO extrategy.
It's a great product, have a nice features but it's very difficult to implement the tool on the environments (like websites or apps). And another pain point is that the support to implement this tool have a additional cost.

Pros

  • Many Features
  • IA complements
  • Great audiences

Cons

  • Difficult to implement
  • UI is not easy to understand

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need to create experiments like ab testings or personalizations, Adobe Target is a really good tool for that.

Adobe Target is an effective when it works but is currently a buggy mess with severely reduced functionality.

Rating: 5 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Adobe Target is important for our organization and theoretically enables us to more easily run A/B tests and carry out personalization on a number of our sites. Target also enables us to run these tests and personalizations with less, if any, developer support, allowing us to quickly iterate on new ideas

Pros

  • Enables A/B testing through a visual editor
  • Integrate well with Adobe analytics for further analysis
  • Makes it easy to reuse certain experiences

Cons

  • New UI is extremely buggy
  • New UI has reduced functionality compared to the old UI with certain features completely missing
  • Customer support for Target is abysmal and takes extended periods of time to get any satisfactory support

Likelihood to Recommend

When it works, Adobe Target is effective in carrying out A/B tests and personalized experiences across a wide variety of sites and even mobile apps. Its also relatively easy to designate audiences and segment tests /personalized experiences to run only for specific user/audiences and in specific portions of a site.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Adobe Target has been really beneficial as it helps one visually create and manage A/B tests and rules-based targeting activities. It offers a simplified implementation strategy for our digital platforms and is effective as it manages all communication, offers automated personalization and provides recommendations about services. It helps to share data and results with ease.

Pros

  • Data results
  • Collaboration
  • Improved conversion rates
  • Tracking responses

Cons

  • Refined search
  • Understanding Platform
  • Reporting

Likelihood to Recommend

We had used Adobe Target, for an event where we were inviting clients for a tax seminar. Adobe Target helped us understand the target audience by reviewing A/B test and seeing the number of people who are actually interested in attending the event and any pre-questions before the event. It helped us segregate the groups according to the questions that were asked.

Adobe Target for AB testing and personalization.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Adobe Target for pre-authenticated Site AB testing and personalization.

Pros

  • VEC is easy to use.
  • Form-based editor offers additional customization for developers.
  • A4T allows users to use Analytics reporting for their Target tests.

Cons

  • Difficult to get feature enhancement requests to be prioritized.
  • Adobe support is fragmented across TAMs, Admin Console support cases, and engineering and consultants.
  • There are too many Adobe Target service maintenance/outage notifications that don't affect us.
  • When specific IDs do not persist, Adobe Target profile attributes will also not continue, which will affect audience targeting in Prod.

Likelihood to Recommend

Adobe Target is an excellent platform for AB testing; Marketers can easily use the VEC to make simple content changes. However, if formatting changes are involved, such as Adobe Target not having a default template, marketers must work with developers to leverage the form-based editor. Adobe's personalization capabilities through Auto Target are exciting, but there is ambiguity about how custom attributes are weighed in Adobe's ML model.
