Who Buys & Uses ADP TotalSource

Great system

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our company uses ADP for almost all of our HR needs - payroll, hiring, compliance, benefits, etc. We needed a better option for benefits and found that and so much more with TotalSource.

Pros

  • Customer Support amazing . Very quick to respond and help solve issues.
  • Payroll takes less than half the time to complete.

Cons

  • The only thing at all I have found that I struggle with is the reports. Most of the time, I can find a sample report to use, but when I need something specific that I need to build, it can be difficult to figure out exactly how to do it.

Return on Investment

  • TotalSource payroll resources have drastically cut the time it takes to complete payroll each week.
  • Onboarding is much easier to complete now that it is done online/App vs doing it on paper. This also saves time for HR because it is automatically entered into the system as they complete it.

Love this software

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Love working with ADPTS! They have listened to problems and made adjustments to the products. We've been with them since 2021, and it has really helped me as a small business. My only complaints are the Talent Acquisition feature and the time function for hourly employees. TA is not in line with other top products, and we are paying for a cheap ATS that fully meets our needs. The timekeeping function is just super expensive. We opted out of it and use another tool for our hourly employees.

Pros

  • Time off Management.
  • Payroll
  • HRBP
  • Reporting feature.
  • BENEFITS!!! Our employees can take advantage of the premiums offered through ADP. Plus, solid designs.

Cons

  • Recruiting tool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Return on Investment

  • The biggest impact has been to the benefits we are able to offer employees. Medical, dental, vision, 401 (k), etc.

Big Bureaucracy and No Accountability

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ADP TotalSource for payroll as well as HR and benefits. We also use ADP TotalSource people to advise us on policies and procedures for both HR and safety

Pros

  • Safety consulting
  • Processing payroll on time

Cons

  • I feel that there is a complete lack of follow-through on problems. Problems get lost in their bureaucracy, and sometimes no one takes accountability.
  • I believe it has very poor user help function
  • In my experience, it has extremely poor reporting

Return on Investment

  • Negative impact in terms of employee satisfaction
  • Modest cost savings on workers compensation and employment practices liability insurance

Other Software Used

QuickBooks Online

ADP TotalSource a lot of tools packed into one software.

Pros

  • Payroll was easy to learn and use with time tracking in a short time frame
  • Tracking team members request offs and approving them were very easy
  • Customizing reports for specific periods of time. This made is very easy for end of year tracking for total hours worked and total dollars paid.

Cons

  • The system was really easy to use and the software was well built. We only had complaints with the customer service end.
  • When you contacted someone with a question, they would redirect you to a specific department. That department would sometimes take 3 - 4 days to get back in touch with you. This made for an inefficient working relationship.
  • During the sales calls we were promised the moon and that we would have a direct account manager. However, the manager was more like who we called to direct us to someone else. She never knew any details on any of our questions. (it was a waste of a position)

Return on Investment

  • ADP Totalsource had a negative impact on our overall return on our investment because of the poor customer service.
  • We spent a lot of money and put time and energy into the setup, we were happy with the product and willing to pay the higher payroll fees and just really unhappy with the customer service.
  • If the customer service would have been different and the fees not so high we would have stayed longterm. Again, they did not seem to be geared towards smaller businesses.
