Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use TriNet for payroll, performance management, time-off tracking, paying contractors, and more. We have a very manual, Word-document-based annual performance review that we will automate for our 2026 performance evaluations. This will allow us to automate and organize all performance reviews by calendar year.

Pros

  • Prompt customer service.
  • AI Assistant.
  • Friendly reminders of open actions.

Cons

  • There are additional tools on the platform that aren't known until I ask.
  • Onboarding a second LLC was a difficult and lengthy process.

  • Compliance
  • Reporting is simple.
  • Payroll
  • Reporting / Tracking Time Off.

TriNet for the win

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We decided to use TriNet for payroll and benefits because, as a small organization, we could not offer reasonably priced benefits. Our payroll system was antiquated as well. It has been so wonderful to work with a company that was able to help us offer health insurance to our dedicated employees. While learning the system has been challenging, the benefits and perks of using TriNet far outweigh those obstacles. I could not be happier with the service I am receiving.

Pros

  • Benefits using the Healthee tool
  • offers extra perks to our employees
  • HR processes as we employ in different states

Cons

  • More help during training sessions. They rushed through it and were not always available.
  • updated procedures to give to clients who want to train on their own time
  • better communication on all the features offered. There were many I wasn't aware of until almost 4 months in!

Return on Investment

  • HR compliance has been a huge benefit
  • HR administrative tasks are at an all time low with TriNet's help
  • payroll efficiency
  • time off balances are accurate

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Trinet for HR. It does our payroll, tax info, benefits, time off, and training. This is very convenient for staff as it is a one-stop shop for anything HR I need. Makes self-service easier--I'm not bothering our HR specialist with every single question or need, I can figure most things out for myself. It's also a convenient place to access my benefit plans. I can click right through to my health insurance provider login, submit receipts for my FSA/HSA, and look up the upcoming paid days off, all in one spot.

Pros

  • Payroll
  • Mandatory trainings.
  • Benefits administration.

Cons

  • There are a lot of redirects.
  • Hard to navigate site.
  • Long wait times for customer service.

Return on Investment

  • Employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Reduce time HR spent on administration.

TriNet- Great for Small Companies but Still Room for Improvement

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have 100+ employees, and TriNet has been great to work with for payroll and employee management. The platform makes it easy to access tools like creating employee handbooks and employer laws and regulations in each state, and I often call in for support on a variety of topics, such as HR Consultation, how to improve our reporting, and payroll issues. However, often I get contradictory information from our account support and the support I am connected with online. I know they are doing some work to make their platform more tech-forward; however, currently, it is behind the times and disjointed.

Pros

  • Payroll Administration
  • Benefits Prep and Education
  • HR Consultation and Employer Law information with weekly updates

Cons

  • Training Video schedule. I would like access to these vides when is convenient for me
  • The ATS
  • The User Interface is a bit sloppy and confusing

Return on Investment

  • Open Enrollment was streamlined and easy
  • Payroll and time keeping all in one place
  • The knowledge resource center is an easy way to brush up on best practices with HR and the wing is a great place to brainstorm with other HR professionals.

TriNet solid

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use TriNet to track employee work hours as well as employee vacation and sick time. I also use TriNet to request and track my time off. I have used TriNet Perform the last two years for performance reviews.

Pros

  • Employee Performance Reviews
  • Monitoring time off for employees.
  • Benefits tracking.

Cons

  • Going back and forth from Payroll view to Weekly view of employee hours needs to be more fluid.
  • Real time view of employee and sick time availability.
  • Benefits being visible on TriNet app.

Return on Investment

  • TriNet Perform allows for efficient performance review processes.
  • TriNet app allows traveling employees to start and end their work day accurately.
