Our Dell AppSync software has great responsibilities in our regional mission to be a disaster recovery tool. We used 2 years to make daily backups and archive them to remote storages in a simplified and automated way without generating any type of failure and error. The interface is extremely user-friendly and easy to use and create, configure and generate reports on backups performed for auditing.

Dell AppSync
2 years of experience
Dell EMC AppSync in use accross the entire estate so a Dell solution seemed like the best solution to best provide the intergraion that we needed. Replication was required between our live and development systems. Main use case was for large database replication acrros dual data centers to maintain a live/live redudency
  • Easy Configuration
  • Ease of Use
  • Set and Forget
Main focus of the product is to replicate data with Dell EMC devices, and it does that well on a one to one basis, doesnt give options for a one to many backup that is required in some scenarios. Not aplicble if yu want to move any data into the cloud or if you have a mixed storage enviroment.
  • Data Sync
  • Ease of use
  • Ability to setup and will carry on
  • Replication of data to where its needed
  • Quick recovery during failures
  • Very stable
Dell EMC Storage products are in use accross the estate so is more suited to use Dell software to manage the replicaiton of data between storage arrays. Provides us with a stable and trouble free mehtod to replicate data across luns. Good product to have implemented during an datacenter outage

Easy to set up and use

In our company, we use DELL EMC AppSync to simplify the processes of copying, replicating and restoring data. Users are able to independently manage applications and can restore data and databases according to their needs without the need for a technician to intervene. It is natively compatible with the main databases. Other databases are manageable at the file system level
  • Database protection
  • Database replication
  • Emergency restore
The best use scenario could be a development environment where there is a need to reuse the same databases for different applications. Developers can automatically manage the relocation of databases, or they can independently configure new data sources to protect or replicate
  • Ease of implementation
  • Ease of management
  • Autonomous management by users
  • ROI
  • More time available to the IT manager for other projects
  • less waiting time for users
