If you are looking for data enrichment software to enhane your database segmentations, D&B Hoovers is a great tool. It has the ability to get you setup with impressive data when it comes to revenues, industry estomates and employee sizes within the north america region. However, it lacks when it comes to EMEA and APAC region where its data is very limited.

Any help that I get in helping find out information about my customers is greatly appreciated. Everything moves so fast nowadays. So, time is important spent is important. D&B does get that done for me very quickly and accurately. For that I am grateful for being able to get the information in a timely manor.

gathering company data, with a focus on financial data. unfortunately, D&amp;B provides only the estimates which is not ideal. but the great thing about it is the coverage - D&amp;B tends to be the last resort when I'm struggling to find the data or identify a legal name of the company i'm looking for. one of the most useful tools for me is the searching bar being able to identify the company just by pasting the company's website into the search bar. it really helps a lot and saves tons of time during research.

I utilize D&amp;B Hoovers to conduct preliminary background research on potential clients of my organization. My first stop on D&amp;B Hoovers is always to check the corporate family tree for any ownership or structure I was not previously aware of, and from there I can do further research when necessary. General revenue numbers and employee counts are also helpful, plus any relevant current news or articles written on the company.

I am a research analyst for a labor organization. I generally use D&amp;B Hoovers to gather information on a private company's high level aggerate sales figures, related industry news, and prescreen score. The prescreen score is very useful as it helps us determine the stability of a company prior to attempting to organize them. The closest industry peers is also very helpful to determine similar organizing targets.

A common example that I refer to which fits both categories would be employee counts. When OSHA 300 logs are unavailable for a particular manufacturing or related facility, D&amp;B Hoovers employee count is a great source. When OSHA logs are available, I tend to use them instead as D&amp;B Hoovers is not as accurate or pulling that information for a credible source in my opinion.

Our GTM operations and data teams are the primary users of D&amp;B Hoovers. We use the tool to expand our set of ICP accounts by finding net new accounts to add to our CRM. We also use D&amp;B Hoovers to help fill out missing information on these accounts.

We also use D&amp;B Hoovers to help find net new contacts for our marketing and seller teams. We want to find the best buying contact for each account.

Pros

  • It does a great job helping us look up data for a specific DUNS number
  • It helps us build lists to target new contacts by DUNS numbers
  • We can also build lists to help us find net new accounts.

Cons

  • It does not show inactive or out of business DUNS numbers. This makes it hard to do research using the tool
  • The list upload process is limited and does not work well for large lists.
  • The list building UI could be better streamlined for faster work.

Likelihood to Recommend

If they are looking up hierarchy information or conducting company research, I would recommend using it. This would be the same for net new accounts or contacts.

If they were conducting in-depth research, I would suggest they consider using a different tool. The limited ability to review out-of-business companies and data makes the tool limited in that type of research.

I have challenges trying to find the decision makers within a company. I use D&amp;B Hoovers to find exact job titles, phone numbers and email address.

Marketing and sales are teh primary users at my company.
