FileCloud is a highly customizable file sharing and collaboration tool that is suitable for businesses of all sizes. Users have praised FileCloud for its robust features, secure data storage, and real-time synchronization capabilities. With FileCloud, users can easily sync files across devices, manage document versions, and access files on-the-go through the mobile app. The platform also provides enterprise-grade security features such as two-factor authentication, data encryption, and remote erase to ensure the security of files and data.

One of the key use cases of FileCloud is securely sharing data with both internal and external customers. This makes it particularly useful for remote workers and facilitates effective collaboration. Users have found FileCloud to be an efficient solution for storing and accessing files in a central location, improving productivity and efficiency. It also provides a branded file storage solution that allows users to safely upload and save personal and office data. Additionally, FileCloud has been beneficial for document management in businesses, enabling stakeholders to send large documents via email links with ease.

Another key use case of FileCloud is its ability to eliminate the need for storing work-related documents on USB drives, ensuring the security of content. By providing a secure platform for efficient data sharing and storage, FileCloud improves performance and eliminates reliance on third-party storage solutions. Furthermore, FileCloud enables seamless file sharing between businesses and customers, ensuring central access and reducing time spent looking for old links.

Overall, users have had positive experiences with FileCloud, praising its secure access to data without the need for VPN, reliable performance, and customer support team. While some users have reported occasional errors or bugs during setup or experienced performance issues, they still consider FileCloud as a strong and adaptable file sharing and collaboration tool.

Robust File Sharing and Syncing Solution: Users have consistently praised FileCloud as one of the most robust file sharing and syncing solutions available. They appreciate its intuitive and user-friendly interface, which makes it easy to upload, share, and collaborate on files.

Advanced Security Features: Many users have expressed their satisfaction with FileCloud's advanced security features. These include two-factor authentication, data encryption, and access controls that provide peace of mind regarding file security.

Wide Range of Integrations: A significant number of reviewers have highlighted the wide range of integrations that FileCloud offers with other tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Outlook. This convenience allows users to sync and access files across different platforms easily.

Complex and time-consuming setup process: Some users have found the initial setup process for FileCloud to be complex and time-consuming, particularly for those who are not familiar with technology. They mentioned that it requires a significant amount of time and effort to get everything up and running smoothly.

Limited functionality on mobile app: Several users have expressed disappointment with the mobile app version of FileCloud, as it lacks certain functionalities available in the desktop version. This limitation can be inconvenient for users who frequently need to access their files while on the go.

Steep pricing plans for small businesses: The pricing plans offered by FileCloud may be considered steep by some small businesses, especially if they do not require all of the features provided by the software. This ensures that users choose the most suitable option for their specific requirements.

FileCloud is used by our organization as a central location to store all of our company shared documents as well as our personal work documents. It is used as a cloud storage solution so we can access our company files from anywhere.
  • Web GUI is easy to use
  • Administration is simple
  • Has mobile app
  • Updates need to be more apparent to FileCloud Drive
  • Uninstall/Reinstall was needed to fix most issues
  • Cost
FileCloud is well suited for companies who want to utilize a cloud storage system but not use products such as Box or OneDrive. FileCloud allows the company to host everything on their own servers and have full administrative access to everything they need. If you don't have someone to manage a server, or don't need to have the granular admin access, this wouldn't be appropriate.

  • Allowed us to share our files easily
  • Allowed us to manage our cloud shares as we saw fit
  • The need to uninstall/reinstall after every other update was a little time consuming
The one thing FileCloud has over all other cloud products I have used such as OneDrive, Dropbox, and Box is that you are hosting everything on your own server. You don't have to rely on Microsoft or any other company to maintain the servers and hope that they don't have a large issue to where you can't access your files. As long as you can access your server, you can get to your files.

Recently, we implemented FileCloud to host our data externally using HTTPS instead of placing our data on a third party cloud solution or using VPN technologies. It is being used by our entire department to access the data on our file server off-campus. With a lot of our staff members working remotely and on the move, this solution helps our staff members access their data on our secured central servers without having to jump through the hoops of using VPN technologies.
  • Access internal file server data from anywhere on the planet with an internet connection.
  • Send out emails with expiration dates, password links, and access control.
  • Ability to send out attachments that are over the email limits for downloading.
  • It integrates with NTFS and Active Directory.
  • Integration plugin for Outlook and Office applications.
  • Easier access to set up Drive Mount on a Mac without the use of other applications to make it work (i.e., FUSE).
FileCloud is perfect for an environment where they have to adhere to certain audit requirements and where it forces companies to keep their data on-premise. Doing this, companies can still do all of their DLP scans, File Integrity Management, and other things and still make their data easily accessible via HTTPS or other means like FileCloud Drive. If a company is able to utilize cloud-based storage such as Dropbox, One Drive, etc. Then perhaps FileCloud would not be as suited for that particular company.

  • FileCloud has helped our staff members be more productive in accessing the data they need at any time they need it from anywhere in the world.
Their product is actively being updated and has better integration with the Mac platform which Varonis Datanywhere was lacking. In addition, the pricing is substantially cheaper than that compared for Varonis and FileCloud has more capabilities to sync, access, and download the data. Overall the comparison wins by far against one of their competitors.
