Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Keepit is used to backup and restore our Office 365 and Entra ID data. It provides protection beyond Microsoft's native retention and allows us to restore mailboxes, files, Teams and chat data and recover directory objects back into Office 365.
Pros
- Backs up Office 365 data and gives us good insight into our data growth
- Restores data easily and quickly with good options
- Allows us the ability to restore chat and teams data
Cons
- Only minor niggle is that the restore to mailbox can be a bit confusing, just working out where the data is going to go. That could be a bit clearer.
Return on Investment
- Requires very little management day to day and easy for all members of IT to be able to restore or search for data
- Priced competitively
- Being able to restore chat and teams channel data easily is useful, not all solutions we tested were able to do that in a straightforward way.

We subscribed to Keepit in order to backup our Microsoft tenant, and restore deleted data as we already faced situation when data couldn't be recovered after the 90 days of delay on Microsoft side.
We also took benefit from Entra ID / Intune backup from Keepit to save some important configuration and policies.

We currently use Keepit to back up our Microsoft 365 tenant. In addition to standard data backups, we use Keepit’s Advanced Entra ID features to protect our cloud identities. This includes regular backups of Entra ID objects, Intune settings, compliance policies, and configuration policies, helping ensure we can recover critical security and management settings if needed.

- It would be great if they showed delta changes automatically instead of having to manually complete it
- When completing a cross-tenant restore (which works well) the notifications are hard to understand and use GUID's instead of DisplayNames
- It would be great if it backed up more than M365/Entra
- Bulk restore limited to 5k items

- We can recover and migrate data and accounts quickly, which saves our IT staff a lot of time during mistakes or incidents.
- Faster restores and fewer issues mean less downtime and less need for outside consultants.
- It's biggest benefit is that it really is set and forget.

I use it to keep a backup of Office 365. The use is friendly and very fast. The connector is simple with O365. The scope is the preservation of data and backup. Recovering the deleted file is very simple and fast. The user experience is perfect for an administrator user. Very good software on the cloud.
